I think it's far more likely that Adelaide get an extra first round pick after Brad Crouch joins the Cats on a five year multi-million dollar deal as a RFA.

There are a few 2020 RFA's that might attract a first round pick; Wines and Viney come to mind.  Both out of contract and both recently lost their captaincy.

With all the Academy, FS and high quality FA's the 2020 draft will be a bit of fiasco.

Re Daniher, various clubs who need a tall forward will back themselves in to rehab him - it sounds like his rehab issues were as much (lack of) motivation at Essendon as physical.  Given that a club only has to stump up $ and no draft picks I suspect it won't only be Sydney keeping an eye on him.  I reckon he will get a package that with/without some AFL fiddling, rates him a first round comp pick.  Whether that is pick 2 or 19 depends on where Ess end the season.  Landsberger was suggesting they will be bottom 4.

I could see Moore going next year to Bombers for Daniher in a straight swap. Moore can play both ends as well.....

So I've heard...

Why does every reporter have Gold Coast as wooden spooners. They will not win the wooden spoon.

Who will?

Im not sure which part i liked more.

The fact that so many have us missing the Finals, or that one person tipped us for the flag.

Strange feeling.

Pretty big difference! Good on Moons for really sticking his neck out (love the mic drop as well!), I don't see it happening this year but if we're not in the mix for top 4-6 I'll be disappointed. The first 4 rounds are just so important for us.

I meant that we wont have a lot of extra pressure on us to perform because so few of these commentators tip us to be much chop. Also makes it more enjoyable to prove a few of them wrong.

I was happy that one thinks we are good enough to win, but also happy to be underdog.

Like i said, its a strange feeling.

Essendon or Sydney for wooden spoon Id say. But I hope Carlton.

This has to be more ammunition for coaches.

"Most commentators think your [censored], don't select you to get in the 8.

the AFL think your [censored], didn't consider most of you in the bushfire showcase.

Your opponents think your [censored] and they can beat you in the last quarter.

YOU ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN CHANGE THIS, get out there and win."

And can be delivered at the star and at 3/4 time

if in front need to keep there because "etc"

if behind do you want to prove them right or are you better than that.

Damp very much an advocate of the H&B narrative.

We are together, we are a teamthat was the worst, we are fitter we are improved.

Now need the match day rev up targeted at that day.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
