Thats a quality pick up.

Well done MFC?

Agree and not bad for a club that finished 2nd last in 19. To obtain New Era and keep the others is a great thing for the club.

I'd really like to see the Demons be innovative with New Era and come out with some new designs as opposed to the traditional emblems.

In the US they have so many great hat designs for the different sporting teams and I think we can be a trend setter in Oz.

Not Quite Right and The Reject Shop might be suitable.

Yes agree the Partnership Team is doing a great job given the on field performances and the negative social media some of our so called supporters post last season.

Are they? I think they have been a big disappointment and underachiever. Very little value added for sponsors or clever leveraging of club assets. Stability a massive issue too.

This is one area the club could greatly improve on and desperately needs to.

Worrying about over-commercialising our assets is idiocy. Not sure what they think we’re protecting; all we’re doing is stopping ourselves from being successful off-field.

So you feel that there are a number of companies out there that are willing to part with 6 figures or higher to a club that finished seconded bottom? and what assets do you see that the club is holding back on? It looks easy when you are sitting behind a keyboard.

Mate, you'd be surprised what I'm privy to. The sad fact is that we're severely underperforming off-field, culture has taken a downward turn under Pert, and the excuses of under-resourcing due to budget-cutting won't wash as the same issues were present last year.

The place needs more good people and operators, and to stop making amateurish decisions.

Can you elaborate on this at all?

Stone-wear sponsors, is this an angle to explore?

Can't back it up eh, thought so.

Not willing to, no need to. You can try to bait me into it but won’t work.

It’s all opinion anyway regardless of the basis.

It is my strong opinion that it is fact. However an intangible like culture can never be proven as fact. But certain events and attitudes are fact.

Maybe a difficult concept for some?

Either way, you should be concerned about the direction of our club.

certainly for me

especially as i have no idea what is meant by the nebulous "off field cuture"

but thank you for keeping me uninformed

I'm not saying you're wrong mate, just trying to clarify.

FWIW I do have concerns about certain things in non-playing/coaching departments, hence why I was pushing for more information.

Cheers.

I’m not going to state it outright. More scrutiny is required though.

I wasn't trying to bait you. You made a statement which now appears to be only an opinion of yours.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
