I believe there are some restrictions on the number of games played, however when I visited the locker room at AAMI park some yers ago I was intrigued to see so many names on each locker (not sure about locker48 though). I was on a quick tour and had no time to take too much notice. Still I’m not sure if you played just one or two games you’d be given the honour.

I have no proof but I guarantee you Heritier Lumumba does not have his number on a locker. You'd at least have to have hit some kind of milestone. Not sure 50 cuts it but I'd assume 100 games in a number gets you on the locker.

99.9% sure its 100 games. Perhaps there are also exceptions for Captains and which may see Trengove with his name on the locker.

From what I've read here it sounds like these are the following numbers.

Jackson 6

Langdon 15

Tomlinson 20?

Rivers 24

Picket 36

Is that accurate?

You are probably correct but there would be exceptions as you say: e.g. Steve  O’Dwyer! 100 games is also apparently when they are offered MCC membership (full not restricted I’m informed). Certainly beats waiting 30+ years.

Sounds right to me.   I think somebody posted that Mitch Brown was in Bull Smith's old 38.

Only played 84 games with us, but did win a Best & Fairest so I imagine that would also qualify.

Forgot about him, cheers.

Ed Langdon – No.15

Adam Tomlinson – No.20

Trent Rivers – No.24

Kysaiah Pickett – No.36

Mitch Brown – No.38

That is a ridiculous video. Just provide the bloody numbers, you weirdos.

What did I just watch? If it wasn’t for DL summarizing it I still wouldn’t be any the wiser.

One of the more unnecessarily stupid videos I’ve seen for a while.

All three new draftees have numbers which are a multiple of six.

And we know 6 6 6 is demonic.

It is also a rule change we struggled with last year and aim to adapt to this year.

Coincidence?

i think not.

I called Kozzie to 36. Reckon it's a great choice, a chance for him to add his own history to the number.

They had them last year so I don't know what happened to the negatives.

That was then, 2019.  That was all negative.

We're talking 2020,  an even year,  and one for growth.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
