Welcome to the Dees Noah Anderson.

Yeah umm, won't happen if GC get a PP before the first round. Until we're told it isn't so, i would be holding off popping the champagne just yet Dazz.

Don't worry I have already accepted that GC will get a PP. Just a pipe dream.

Bloke will be an absolute star.

Not under Goodwin he won't be. He'll drain all the natural talent out of him inside of 12 months. I just hope that come December, Anderson is at the MFC and Goodwin isn't.

Garbage, did we drain Petracca’s talent or is just not developed as we we had hoped?

Langdon for 2nd round 2019 (circa #21) and swap of 1st rounders in 2020 with Freo. Outside run on the wing  GET HIM IN

Schoenmakers 25yo who can be picked up as a free agent - 3rd tall or backup for Weid  - Good Eye for the goals  (we need goal kickers)

#2-3 Ash -18yo  instantly walks into wing opposite Langdon  ; big call needed if Rowell was available

#39 Bergman - 18yo classy youngster from the Dragons    Suits our need to get skilled footballers in

# 57 - Brodie Newman 18yo  super talent  doesn’t get all the recognition  like an Easton Wood type   Competitive skilled wins the footy 192cm   Allows Salem into a roll in mid if needed

# 75-  will Fordham 23yo  (Frankston VFL) classy skilled midfielder who runs and accumulates OR Matthew Allen - eagles listed but  stars everyweek in wafl (wasted)

upgrade to the list. Dunkley. Lockhart.  CWagner

Gone. 9) Lewis Spargo Keilty T Smith Jkh Maynard Garlett Walker Jwags

Wouldn’t write our 2020 first rounder being off the table for 2 reasons

1. Clubs may value it highly due to our 2019 performance and not rate our chances to rise on the ladder hence giving us good value for it

2.Goodwin and co cannot risk another season like 2019 and would rather front load any talent income possible which our 2020 future rounder can provide.

I would look to trade it for a pick between 4-7 and see if any clubs bite.

if we can do that could look at both Anderson and Ash.

Out

Maynard

Lewis

Garlett

Keilty

Tim Smith (May retire I heard)

J Wagner

One of JKH and Stretch

I’d hang on to T Smith if he isn’t retiring.

I think we’ll land Langdon. And I’d be using our first hopefully on Anderson.

I would pick Anderson first. Big upside and his style and run makes him the AFL prototype

But Rowell is ready to go in the midfield from round 1 2020. Suns may go for Rowell as a young leader. Great player. Selwood mould.

Bit of talk going around that it's been decided officially now GG will get pick 2 as a PP.

Have heard the same thing. clubs not happy but the AFL were never seriously considering alternatives. it was always going to happen.

i do wonder if we desperately want Noah Anderson would we entertain an upgrade. pick 3 and steak knives player to upgrade to pick 2

I just don't agree with compromising the top 10 of the draft for any reason at all. it flies right in the face of the equalisation policies. they should have been given pick 11 and pick 20. so they get 1, 11, 19,20 and then off field assistance and access to state league players without screwing over other clubs.

Jeez we're an arrogant lot aren't we.

We've been around since the dawn of footballing time and it was only 10 years ago that we received a priority pick from the AFL. What's worse? As recently as 2014 we submitted another request for one with the AFL denying it. However, we did recieve pick 2 as compensation for Frawley leaving that year. For Frawley. Let's just take a minute to think about how other clubs felt about that if we're playing this game?

The AFL bring in two more AFL clubs to expand the game and there are Melbourne supporters on here whining that the Suns might be taking precious pick two away from us. We've been around for how long and still need assistance in almost all facets. We make a prelim and are so arrogant to think it will just happen again the following year.

We are a nothing club right now and supporters whining about the AFL giving the Gold Coast assistance are completely contradictory, pig-headed and are in total denial of the state of their own club. It beggars belief.

How about we look after our own backyard you peanuts.

The silver lining is we may now have to really think about our pick without the noise that 1 and 2 are set in stone. That approach has not worked for us in the past.

I’m not a fan of them getting a PP after their first. Should be end of first. They have enough young talent. Gil and co need to put work into player retention.

Bit of talk around that we will try and downgrade our first rounder if it's pick 3 to two later first round picks. and potentially even move on the 2020 first rounder to try and get something else back in the first round.

i quite like this because i don't think the club is really 100% sure themselves what's gone on this year and needs to plan a little each way, we might rise back up the ladder, but we also might not, so if we can get 3-4 first round draft picks and really boost that young core and keep building for the future as well as add say Ed Langdon i think we are in a good spot.

I believe Jeremy Cameron is a free agent next year? and lots of talk of him coming back to Vic so may be worth popping pick 3 under the Giants nose and seeing if they're tempted to maximise their value.

Sounds like Tyson Kelly trade. Can bet your money Anderson and Ash go on to become super stars while we are left with players who don’t defend or can’t hit targets

we need noah or ash. easy. if we muck around with anything to get extra first rounders this year it’ll be next year’s first that gets put up for swap

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
