I reckon we have too many players getting spots on the 'Demonland' masthead on false pretense, and not Via delivering real Footy to the Demons cause.

I'd like to suggest that we select the captains firstly, and then fill the other spots with the top vote getters in our recent 'Bluey Truscott Medal'...

So by my reckoning... we have 3 captains in the club. Jones, Viney and Daisy.

Currently there are 10 faces on our Masthead.

So if 3 faces are our captains, we might have 7 top vote getters of the 'Bluey', to add to the masthead ???

Any thoughts from the faithful ?

No, we have two captains  - Viney and Jones.

Last time I checked, no woman has been drafted into the AFL.

Thank [censored] we’re tackling the big issues on Demonland.

Your post has nothing to do with my thread. Drafting women is not mentioned.

But I take it we recognise Daisy as a club captain, because she IS, currently on our Demonland masthead.

I would assume that means Demonland respects her position at the club, as captain of our women's team. And as such has her up on our masthead already.

Yep, your right MrQueen.

Tackling Demonland's issues, in the off season.  Culture is paramount, and we contribute to it in ways you would never think of.

It's taken me a while to come to this view but I reckon we should just let Andy do whatever he likes with the banner. He maintains the site for us and as such I think he should be given carte blanch to do whatever he wants with the banner. It's not like he's going to do something stupid and inconsistent with a Demons supporter site.

Go on Andy, do your best.

PS: Obviously he doesn't need our permission to do it. I just want the rest of us to respect his efforts and leave him alone to do what he wishes.

Yeah, Macca, things are getting a little bit too speculative, too insignificant. Just want a fill of training and remediation updates, progress reports and 'deeper' prognostications for the coming season. Form guides are more important than mastheads ...

...and quite often, not much thinking goes into so much....

Just wait until we announce a new AFLW captain in the coming weeks.

Everytime I look it has more faces. Starting to remind me of Sgt Peppers. Did I see Elvis?

The Beatles, holding marching band instruments and wearing colourful uniforms, stand near a grave covered with flowers that spell "Beatles". Standing behind the band are several dozen famous people.

Me too,

then I realised I was getting the masthead confused with the Demonland interviews banner...

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Captain and games record holder of Demonland’s footy team that dominated in the 2000’s up there! ??

I'd love to see the top 10 of the previous season's 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy... up on our masthead.    "not in it, not on it, basis."

That sorts it out fairly... and would have seen 'Nev' on it sooner.   Sooner than Hunt's inclusion, for example. Maybe ahead of watts.

Yep, and I'd also like to see Harmes up there, this season.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front. They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
