Looked at Scotts media conference...it pains me to say that it was all class.  Check out his first comment

He is also delusional saying it was even after quarter time, had we not kicked 1.11 after quarter time it would've been an 80 point win. We bullied them all night.

Oh, I thought it was evident. My bad.

I was most bullish about us beating Geelong and even wanting to play Geelong in the first round of finals and you thought they were a side to avoid...

i stand by the gif tho...

Fair call, their “stars” did scare me a bit but I was secretly confident before the game due to our manic pressure of recent weeks.

How many times did the Holy Trinity, Ablett, Duckwood, Dangerfield, plus Hawkins whinge  to the umpires wherever we did get, or they did not get a free kick?

Clearly they play so many games at KP when where they get away with murder, and get gifted the ride, they don’t realize that there are actually rules in the game  that apply to both sides

Scott is the luckiest coach in history, took over a great team in 2011 that coached it's self, has been living on that for the last 7 years. Geelong  put everything into the Ablett and danger basket lost Motlop and the  compo pick they traded for Ablett. I was so happy when they wanted Gary back I predicted that would take them backwards. Motlop is a better player then Gary now, he won them their semi final  last year played a great game. The holy  Trinity might have worked 3 years ago, selwood is cooked, I bet in year to come selwood will tell everyone he played on after getting concussion in games, Scott is the type of coach who would tell his doctors to lie when it comes to his stars.

He is right both teams missed many easy goals after qtr time, bad goal kicking is bad football, that being said we controlled the game after qtr time, that's what good teams do they get a lead and  then control the game.

Those are good comments but honestly I’m not interested in what people from other clubs are saying about us. Seriously I just saw on Twitter Xavier Ellis saying “We all have that one annoying Melbourne friend, I couldn’t bare it if they had a tilt at the flag.” Seriously I now know why I don’t trawl through social media, because it’s garbage.

Demons also weren't that great?

What are they on? Otherwise, pretty classy I thought by the (few) Cats supporters I was around. Plenty saying good luck next week.

Yeah lots leaving as the siren went were saying “enjoy” “good luck” “smash the Hawks!”

Even on Bigfooty, which is a cesspool, they're absolute gentlemen.

13 wins which 8 out of 9 came from our ground.

Perhaps I have been too generous saying cats are a very good team. Above stat reveals what a massive home advantagethey have. Its huge.

Take it away and I now wonder how they would fare. May explain their poor finals record.

gracious in defeat? sure this is the geelong thread? in all seriousness, credit to their fans at the game, didnt sook around and let us enjoy it unlike other clubs' supporters.

That's because there was only a handful of them at the game.

This.

Me and me mates have started calling them the Pointer Sisters. Lots of finger pointing down there.

They are in a world of pain IMHO . . . their list is aging, full of c-graders and virtually nothing coming through.

It is a sign of growing maturity in our list that despite our being unable to goal, we did not give up and continued to apply incredible pressure on the opposition, then break clear.

Only a couple of months ago we would have involuted and been run over.

Definite progress, despite the agonising frustration of wasted opportunities.

And it was amusing to hear the Cats' fans gloating over their two runaway wins in the final two rounds: just shows that easy games coming into the finals is in fact NOT good preparation.

We had two pressure games, that we won: far better preparation.

Hudson has really lost it. He's an absolute pill these days. Even managed to make a little snow joke during the commentary that we heard when listening back to the game. What a smarmy little fuckstick.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
