Only 11 senior listed players playing we usually struggle when numbers are that low.

This is the team I think will line up not the actual team.

Why was my exact same thread closed and not been merged. And why others complain about the VFL best 22 when others aren't has got me beat. Have you whingers got anything else to complain about. It doesn't happen when I post the AFL best  22. I would have thought a lot of people wouldn't know the best 22 in the VFL, when VFL players don't get the media exposure the AFL players do.

No one has complained mate..

And to be honest i dont think anyone gives a toss about VFL best 22, it chops and changes due to team selection on a  Thursday night.

As long as our Melbourne players are playing well and contributing in whatever positive way they can then thats all that matters to supporters.

Has Harry Petty been rested due to his mauling at AFL level and not doing well when he returned to VFL? Gee, his bubble has been blown. Hopefully back to best next week.

Petty broke a finger last week so that's why he isn't playing

What about King????

Kingy copped a decent headknock when AVB accidentally hit him when he was bullying through a pack, bit of delayed concussion I think.

Wonder who will be the carry over emergency - probably Josh Wagner.

Yeah I would think so too, which hurts Casey as Geelongs can get opened up by switching the play a lot and Wags was probably the best at that for Casey off the half-back.

I'm not expecting a good result for this game. Geelong have been the only team to consistently beat Casey over the last 3-4 years, we just never seem to play well against them. They are ranked Number 2 in Defence and Casey are ranked Number 1, so it's going to be a battle of the midfield and which defence stands up better (I'll back in Keilty, Hutchy and Pedo to rule the day) but if the boys can step up with the lack of AFL talent and win this game, I think that'd put a lot of confidence into the AFL boys, so we'll see.

Is anybody broadcasting it?  I an not expecting Casey Radio to be loaned a broadcast box but is there any Geelong station covering the match (however biased)!

Stupid Channel 7 covering VFL Williamstown v Dogs from Williamstown in the afternoon and then switch over to the AFL DEES V CATS after their news. Apart from the additional costs of two venues, our VFL game would be a lot better game anyway, particularly if it is in dry conditions.

At a guess, K-Rock 95.5fm from memory

Would love to see Vanders,Weid,McK and Baker play really well.Gives you a good feeling that we have half decent back ups.

That would be worse than listening to the Perth stations broadcast an Eagles game......

We will get done today. Our side is much weaker than usual and it down at Kardinia shizenhole.

It’s disgraceful isn’t it. The Adelaide one is pretty badly the worst, 5AA?

Currently in the car with the Fam heading down the highway to Geelong to watch both the VFL and AFL games today. I’m not too optimistic but a dual victory would be fantastic today.

Hopefully Keilty can have a good game too.

Have a good one Drunkn167

Typically Geelong.... the VFL game starts at 3:45, but the gates don’t open till 3:15. What an absolute joke.

Qtr Time: Casey Demons 0.4.4 to Geelong VFL 2.0.12

A pretty scrappy affair.

Doesn’t read very pretty to me.

Thanks for the updates.

Is there a wind favored end?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
