Sad news that four times premiership player, and member of our 150 Heroes, Geoff Case has passed away.

Here's hoping the boys do him proud tonight!

I vaguely remember him as ?HBF back in the glory days.

I presume he had retired shortly before you started Barrie.

Mono, I believe Case retired in Vagg's first year -- 1962.  So, presumably may have played together for a few games, although not really sure...

Enjoyed watching him play often.  Yes SWYL, one of our greats.

If only some of today’s players could have the same credentials

RIP Demon

Does anyone on here know why he retired so young at 26

Lured to the country on big £’s?

Wonderful player and very nice bloke.

Sad news.

Steady as a rock on the half back flank. Mr Relliability. Came to Melbourne via the thirds with Ron Barassi, and Bluey Adams. Donny Williams too I think. Bob Johnson as well?

RIP Geoff.

Played in a variety of positions. However, if you were able to be a regular in those great premiership teams in the late 50s early 60s, it meant you were a damn good player.

Owned or managed a news agency in Malvern Road, East Malvern in the 1960s.

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read.
