I wonder if Frost could play that Wing role, that TMc's been playing? If he's being mobile and attacking, and taking strong marks around the ground, he could try the wing role,,, and also the 2nd ruck role, from the wing. That leaves us with the Weide and TMc. If Weide comes in to partner Hogan, then TMc would be more than adept at CHB. Edited June 24, 2018 by DV8 1 Quote

New supporters like you should READ report on game where they state Casey was told to play Pedo in defence in case he is required by dees. This verifies my comments Quote

I'd written this kid off after the first period of the season where he played forward but moving him back has been a really good outcome. He's showing clean hands, good decision making and his kicking is very strong. And he's tough. You have probably seen more of Dion than I have this year, so I accept your optimism in him. I personally haven't seen it yet. Hope you are right though and he becomes a good player for us. Quote

We have a deficiency in skill which is highlighted against the better teams. You don't just "learn from it" and suddenly become skillful. That is ridiculous to suggest. If I spoke to Goodwin I am pretty confident he would acknowledge a lack of" great users of the ball and pace." Do we find loose targets and hit them inside the F50 when we play good sides? Obviously not often enough to win. That is the problem. We know that is the problem as we have seen it so many times over the last couple of years. What do we do to fix the problem? We don't just rely on learning from it, we bring in players with the required skill set or develop our own who have them, but might not be getting a game. To say the answer is to " learn from it" is to use your words "twaddle". Edited June 24, 2018 by Redleg 5 Quote

The combination of Hogan and him is our strength at the moment. The game on Friday night has been hailed as one of the best of the season because of its intensity and pressure. There is a vast differnece in playing in that environment and a game against a lower VFL side. The weakness from us on Friday was twofold : Bombing into fwd line especially in first half. DId the I50 stats good ,but only provided and a launching pad for PA Not paying the umpires the required amount. Quote

I'd written this kid off after the first period of the season where he played forward but moving him back has been a really good outcome. He's showing clean hands, good decision making and his kicking is very strong. And he's tough. In our list strategy, we need to recognize that we will be a serious footy team over the next 5 years or so. Players like Lewis, Vince, Jetta and Jones (who will likely go back as his career lengthens) will leave. We won't want to bring inexperienced young players over this period. Dion is shaping as a good long-term replacement for one and will come in with 50 or so VFL games under his belt and at a good age. It's early days but I like what I'm seeing. I'm also encouraged with Bill Stretch's form. If he can carry his VFL attributes to AFL level he'll be a very useful player to have on the list. If you're right, VP, it sounds like the club are utilising the Casey system just as clubs did 25-30 years ago (think Hawthorn). Develop guys like Johnstone and Petty for as long as possible at Casey, rather than rushing them into the AFL system. Of course, it helps when your recruitment enables you to give these younger guys the time they need to improve their individual games at the lower level. I think it bodes well for our future though. Need to keep Jason Taylor for as long as possible too. EDIT. Given the MFC coaches asked Rawlings to play Pedo back with a view to playing him there next week, I'd say the FD's thinking is let Petty develop at VFL level for as long as possible. This, despite our clear lack of tall KPBs in the AFL team. Unfortunately, I'd say they'll go with Pedo next week instead of Harry. I hope I'm wrong. I do love how we're using our Casey system though. Finally, a professional football club. Edited June 24, 2018 by A F 2 Quote
