Unfortunately I won't get a chance to listen as I've family obligations but I'd be very interested to hear his views on targetting either Sloane or Gaff as FA this year.  Who would he choose (assuming we could get either) on the assumption we could afford them. Or is there someone else he'd look at?

Good question but unfortunately we interviewed Roosy yesterday in order to accommodate for his busy schedule. We will be airing that interview tonight prior to our discussion of the Queens birthday game.

The interview as well as the full podcast will be available from tonight after the podcast airs.

Subscribe to us on iTunes or stream it on Soundcloud. The interview itself will also be posted to YouTube.

Good work DL. How did the interview go? Great i would expect. Hopefully supermercado got some nice stats in.

Looking at the tiles of the podcasts it is really impressive library of interviews you are building

From Roosy? Or us after the interview?

A little from Roosy. Mostly talked about his time at the Dees with spill over to current day. No spoilers. You'll have to listen.

We'll talk about the Pies game after the interview.

If anyone would like to join the discussion about the QB game or any other issues then call: 03 9016 3666 or Skype: Demonland31.

I think next week we'll give our mid year review perhaps doing a player by player review before looking at our one and only Friday night game of the Home and Away season.

Thanks!!!

Sorry about the half an hour delay. Don't know why my program that streams the show live just wouldn't connect. I was going to delete and redownload the program straight away but didn't and that seem to do the trick. Lucky we didn't have Roosy waiting on the line. That would have been embarrassing.

Just discovered the podcasts and I’m blown away Demonland!

Great questions and responses. Good journalism IMHO

When Roosie said his biggest legacy is seeing kids turn up with Mel FC tops at QB I went to tears! My 6 yo girl wears her Demon stuff to school, my 11yo boy hats footy.

BTW

Did anyone else notice that Roosie referred to Melbourne as “us” on multiple occasions?

That was not lost on me and for me personally it was the perfect answer to his legacy question and not just for the kids.

Roosy was great and very diplomatically hinted that it was time to cease the NT arrangements

As many have said I can reluctantly live with the game in the Centre but Darwin has to go.

In fact I could learn to like the game in Alice... This year demonstrated that with work it can be made into a showcase game.

Takes to much energy out of the side.

Top 4 sides wouldn’t go near it, which is why it was thrown to us.

Wonderful insight and a fantastic interview.

Loved every minute of it, one of the things that stood out were the comments about Grimes and Trengove. High praise for both of them even though it didn’t work out in the end for both of them.

“Lunacy” used to describe their appointment as co-captains at such a young age.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
