Just the media have missed something.  He's signed until the end of 2022.

So called professionals can't even add up.... haha

TOMMY GUN YOU BEAUTY

Hopefully we can still fit in Gaff.

Hope the club has insured his big toe

Fantastic news.

Huge part of us going onwards and upwards.

Keep him in the forward line with Hoges and we are well on our way.

Well done Tmac and MFC.

Genius move in the end. Interesting that Mahoney stated Tom was drafted as a forward/ruck who then had to play back

Yeah, thats why i suggested it, and OMc was starting to show a bit of something, just starting to show signs of emerging.

I thought OMc needed to have a bit more responsibility, and the rucks both got injured and Tom's kicking was an issue; at that time.

Frost was doing OK. Tommy either needed to play forward, because of his kicking issue, or in the future he wouldn't have been able to keep his spot.

The rest now is history, and a fantastic one;,, and his kicking transformation is amazing.  I heard he worked on it, with one of our coaches, and he has emerged an amazing footballer.

Same re Pedo, I was always optimistic for him, and with a bit of faith and some injuries, and his mindset getting better, he took the opportunity, and he is now a true Demon.

His efforts for team and club, i think is fantastic.

He and Hogan are so damaging and complimentary - it is underpinning our flag hopes really. We can get smashed in the middle and still kick a winning score because these two attract a confident transition from our players behind the footy. They know they will get rewarded when they turn the footy over and move it quick.

Which game was it when we first trialled him in the forward line in the second half of a match, and he suprisingly kicked a few and always looked like a solid lead up target? At the time it seemed kind of odd and gimmicky. Oh how times have changed.

I don't remember which game it was, but I wanted TMc out of defence, and the rucks got hurt.  Now I want him to venture back down there, just for cameos, with his newfound kicking skills, and confidence.

And I noticed how our transition thru mid ground improved, with him and Pedo using their size across the middle, which really aided our bringing of the ball thru, and into our F50.

We sort of stumbled into it... and then we stumbled out of it, when Gawn came back too soon, and Pedo was dropped.

This year seems we have learnt, that the midfield is better with the big guy up around the wing.

The worst thing about this news is that we get another terrible pun from Matt Burgan and Melbourne Media. "Tommy Gun Locked and Loaded"? You don't need puns for headlines anymore. We're in the 21st century.

Other than that, great news.

Entertaining interview with T Mac on SEN a short time ago.

• Oscar and the club have started talks on his contract.

• The boys have a tennis, squash and board games club. Beats drinking beers mid-week IMO.

• Was asked about the “ Camp” and admitted he was in the middle of it and could see both sides of the argument. Basically said mountain out of molehill.

Can someone put up a link to this. It was insightful and amusing at the same time. Garry Lyon nearly"... fell off his bike..."  when he heard the new yesterday, so happy was he!

Danger Will Robinson

I can see it now

Shut this down now and wrap them all in cotton wool

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
