Is Weideman playing ?

Yes, hasn’t gone near it

Relentless pressure from both sides creating a very contested low scoring game both teams making plenty of errors

Jkh getting a fair bit of it this quarter has been busy.

Quigley has been impressive too

Sounds like coach speak for a scrappy game mate.

Perhaps a media career awaits you !

Sounds from radio that Williamstown are going the biff off the ball.

Is there video review of VFL games.

(Glad Brayshaw doesn't play VFL)

Half time and Casey's lead is 13 points

Casey 6.8 44 Williamstown 4.7 31

Goals Garlett  Pedersen 2 Balic King

Stats Hunt J Wagner 16 Kennedy-Harris 15 Stretch 13

Thanks all for ongoing commentary

Dec Frost and Petty all getting hands to it just not hanging on

Hunt Stretch Tyson Lockhart great

Pedo needed to mark a bit more then

Its gonna be hard for me today to focus on the team as I’m really focusing of Decs game so apologies

Frost has been poor. Smith great game so far. Defended well and atta cked when oppurtunity arose.

Seemed to me with a forward line that contains Garlett jkh and Bugg at various times that Willy have been getting the ball out of the backline far too easily that quarter. Pedo has been crashing packs up forward all day but our crumbers have not been taking advantage either.

Pretty even contest but we look the better side, just started to get on top that last 10 minutes

Agreed Frost doing himself no favours to getting selected next week. None of the key defender candidates have done much to state their case.

I reckon based on what this game sounds like, we should bring in Pedo as a McDonald replacement and send T Mac to the backline.

Tom would perform well, but a net loss to the team

Hey Chook. Do we really need like-for-like with the Filth? O-Mac can stand Big Cox. Who else do they have with height that can trouble us on their forward line?

No way is TMac going to the backline.

Yeah don’t move TMac back that would kill our forward prowess

50m penalty and goal to Weid as he's whacked in the face after earning a free. Willy definitely going the biff. No 7 defender for them niggly all day

Guys, I'm not saying play McDonald there all game. Just that with Pedo in, we have heaps of flexibility in how we do things. No other player could give us that.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
