3 Good Things v Brisbane

Featured Replies

1. keeping Brisbane to 19 points in a half of football (and Geelong to 17) the backline can be pretty stingy

2. Hogan playing in to form

3. winning away from home

1. Unlike other times where we have dozed off mid-game, this time when we woke up again we actually hit back instead of merely rebalancing.

2. Hogan has now played one good and one very good game to start the season, and is getting rewarded for work rate.

3. When we are at full intensity, we seem to be incredibly hard to score against and very capable of cutting off play and rebounding decisively.

Honorable mention to Garlett for being the proverbial 'small forward you need to have' when nothing is coming easy.

1. Resilience shown by the team in very trying sub-tropical conditions particularly after half-time. It appears that visits to the top end have ‘toughened’ up the boys!

2. Lions are definitely an improving side on Saturday nights performance and made the game a good contest, but lacked finesse and meaningful firepower up forward.

3. A number of ‘unsung’ players some much maligned here made a positive contribution to the result at different stages of the match.

We moved up to sixth on the ladder.

We are sixth on the ladder.

We are sitting in 6th spot on the ladder.

1. Going up a gear and getting the job done when we had to.

2. Hogan's epic tackle.

3. Fritsch's hands.

1. Hogan’s continued improvement

2. Jeff G coming good after last week

3. We won, maybe not the greatest win, but we got the 4 points

1. We won

2. We stopped the rot

3. Our first half was good and all the players know they could've done better.

1. Clayton Oliver is a machine, best in tight hands in the game

2. Hogan and Garlett were matchwinners

3. We found a way to win when they had the momentum in the last

Exactly.

And goal kicking is critical!!!!!

1. I didn't watch, so didn't know we gave up a 7 goal lead (yet again) until after the game was finished.

2. We won.

3. From all reports we won't have to put up with Bugg and his appalling goal kicking for too much longer.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
