If it's true that Tyson was left out of the side because he was one of the player who didn't want to go on the camp (can you blame him, given he sustained a serious injury last year which apparently was not treated properly or promptly?!), it says a lot more about our coaches than the player himself. Costing the team 4 crucial points to prove a silly point that they are the ones running the show. 

I hope this is not true, because if it is, Goodwin has a lot of growing up to do as a coach!

The content would have been discussed before the show - the media guy for Jonesy could have framed a better response for him

I read 'Freedom to play' as more in the context of what Jones later said was the reason he had to go for it being better for both parties, ie removing stigma of no1 pick and pressure that goes on his shoulders and how it reflects back on club etc. Out of context it may sound like it has somethin to do with structure or with coaching, it did initially raise an eyebrow.

Having waded through these few pages, I'm still little the wiser as to what Jones actually said. On the other hand, I have plenty of speculative information as to what people think he said, what he didn't say, and what people would have said if they were in his position.
