We seem to make the same errors in both the men’s and women’s forms of the game, too fancy with the wind there. Need to use the wind to your advantage by kicking it forward quickly into space and let the forwards lead onto it or at least allow a contest amounts a small group of players. By being fancy we allow time for opposition to get most of their team inside our forward 50 making it really hard to get kicks on goals.

We should be 3 goals up at a minimum with that breeze. Have to defend solidly this quater.

Let see how we go into the breeze

Watch the dogs play fast footy now after clogging us up for that quarter. They will kick forward quickly.

Faaaaark. A few frees (they seem to come in spurts in the women’s game) and we are losing structure

One of these dogs girls is more of a ducker that that prat from Brisbane.

Worst umpiring I have ever seen.

Clearly missed us being held last quarter but have found it this quarter. Goes with the umpiring in the girls game, is always highly questionable.

The ducking is killing us

Thy should change the rule so that ducking is punished. The original reason we have a high rule is to protect the players neck/head, if you drop the knees in a tackle to draw the free you should be punished for putting yourself in danger

Will have to be 20 points up at 3/4 time I would think. Just go long with the breeze girls and try your luck.

Gee they don't pay in the back

They don’t pay any number of rules. They do pay random frees that are completely at odds with the standards set in that game. It is usually the case but is really obvious in the women’s game.

How’s the [censored] commentator stating the dogs are two quarters from a grand final constantly, stating it like fact. Get [censored] [censored] wit!

We are just so inefficient in the forward line. That's why will lose tonight's game.

Was thinking the same thing. We dropped 3 marks directly in front in the 1st qtr.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
