Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Dunne deal at Sandringham

Not much news out at Zebraland however, one new signing is Old Mazenod ruckman Dominic Dunne who was best on ground for the VAFA in its loss to the SA Amateurs during the season. That effort earned Dunne All Australian Amateur Under 23 recognition for 2006.

Sandy losses are former Demon veteran Guy Rigoni who retired immediately after this year's grand final and two impressive younger players Mark Corrigan and Daniel Corp who look like moving on.

Meanwhile at the club's AGM on Monday night John Kempf was awarded Life Membership along with the club's late president Gary Gilchrist who tragically passed away in July.

Triple Premiership coach Mark Williams has re-signed to lead the Zebras for the next three years.

Thanks Bazza.

So Sandy will have presumably PJ/ Jamar, Dunne and the MFC rookie ruckman. Hmm, the risk is that the rookie might be squeezed for opportunity in a full list.

Has Sandy recruited Nick Smith or Phil Read?

no smith down there means that newton should be able to take the number 2 tall forward spot, and will give garland a chance to play a few games maybe in the seniors

how sigining dunne goes with neaves and maybe PJ/Jamar will work together will be interesting

also reported on demonology

nick smith has signed with box hill hawks!

News is that 426 has joined Box Hill. I think Read has retired.

I think Newton will be good enough in 2007 to cement a place in the Sandy side in 2007 irrespective of the presence of Sautner, Smith or anyone else.

It's been well documented that he looks like getting a chance in the nabcup or practice matches next year and he should do well enough to at least initially force his way into the Sandringham side. Hopefully, he will get a few games at AFL level as Lynden Dunn did this year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Neaves overtakes both PJ and Jamar very quickly with hsi rucking, imo he's already ahead of them if you compre them at the same age.

Anyone know if Ott is still playing?

There have been reports that fires in the ti tree area behind TBO came mighty close to the ground yesterday and the MFC player change rooms and the old grandstand were in jeopardy at one stage but firefighters were on the ball and saved the day.

Fortunately the fire only affected some ti tree bushes between the coaches box and the main offices outside the concrete wall doing no damage to the club facilities. Locals say that area is basically a rubbish dump area that should be cleaned right out with a fire track all around the TBO oval for safety reasons.

For the VFL fans and the supporters of Nick Sautner in particular, here is something you may not have seen in him [read here]

I like the fact that he's such a modest unassuming fellow and I'm sure his fans over he would agree wholeheartedly:-

"It's vital for me to balance my personal, business and sporting life. I play VFL footy for Sandringham. I have played in four premierships and have led the league goal kicking for six years, a competition record."

Seriously though, he is being very modest because he's now played in five VFL premiership teams, not four - 1997, 200, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
