Viney - courageous beyond comparison

Salem - disappointing before injury

Petracca - huge final quarter

Lewis - never imbued confidence

Gawn - a wonderful return

Tyson - great first half

Oliver - some important touches

Hibberd - not as prolific

Stretch - good in close

Frost - licence to thrill

Melksham - continued good form

Hannan - valuable but limited

Pedersen - versatile and brave

Vince - experience proved invaluable

T.McDonald - a pivotal performance

O.McDonald - lowered his colours

Hunt - didn't appear fit

Neal- Bullen - becoming a fixture

Bugg - had limited influence

Garlett - obviously hates traveling

Jetta - some important interceptions

Harmes - a valuable game

All seems reasonable, apart from Viney and T-Mac everyone else seemed fairly average yet we won

Melbourne - Playing as one

I was pretty confident when Lewis was camped perfectly in position in the final second. The guy knows how to win.

Joeboy I appreciate your contribution to demonland and look forward to it every week but fair dinkum that was a classic win and you barely gave a player a positive 3 words.

Melbourne - cohesion is key

James  Harmes - career best game

To be fair, aside from T. McDonald and Viney there were very few standouts.

Salem - effective before injured

Hunt - many aerial surprises

Omac - Now so important

Garlett - quiet but brave

Lewis - visible when counted

Thats the way I like it, under the radar , expect tmac articles , oliver fainting , how tough is Jack

Flat track bullies- Just got bullied!

I think that is a pretty fair assessment.

We just look to have a good spread at the moment. Everyone doing their job, with a couple of stand outs each week.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
