    Meanwhile Pedersen should be able to keep Weideman's position filled quite adequately

    may not be as high as you think. he wouldn't be on much coin at swans and his injury record/games played keeps a lid on it

    depends what you call high. we payed 400k for melksham who definitely wasn't a star, so paying $500 or a little more wouldn't be high.  now, if you then factor in the new incoming pay deal for all players and consequent increased salary cap, 600k may not be a "high" price. 750k i think would be too high but i can't see reid getting offered that elsewhere, but i could be wrong

    25 year old free agent chf's down appear that often; he'll command closer to $750-900k a year to land from the swans.

    he is extremely injury-prone and pretty inconsistent for mine.

    I doubt Sydney will be able to afford him at that price either. I would say a worth of 600-700k is more realistic. Swans may not be able to even afford that price either.

    He's mediocre at best. Signing a player like Reid for good money could hurt a teams moral. Look what signing Vickery did to Hawthorn.

    In my book Reid's wage plus Lewis's wage = Fyfe's.

     

     

    Fyfe can do anything Reid can do forward.  And we know what he can do in the tardis.

    I don't think Hawthorn's drop in form can be 100% attributed to acquiring Vickery, but I really hope it is for the sheer comedy value.

    Vickery as some sort of team-killing plague bearer is hilarious, particularly if he's offloaded to several other teams before he retires.

    Then he can go into coaching and infect some more clubs.

    It also makes Richmond ground zero. Bahahahahaahahahaha

    well i doubt anyone will pay that much, simply because he's not worth that much (given his injury record), unless you could wrap a good percentage of that into a performance based component even then it'd be overs

    When you factor in that $500k will become the new $750k, plus you've got to prise him out of Sydney, it'll take an offer of some sort to shake him free.

    If we could get him for $500k under the new CBA he'd be 'cheap' - apart from the whole being so injury-prone and inconsistent thing.

    I'd much rather we chase Lever but considering that Reid will come 'free'...well...

      A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

      Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
