Thank you. Absolute lifesaver!

No probs.

I'm not a MFC 'basher' but this is yet another example of how poor the marketing and communication is at the dees. Yes the link came from a MFC email but the email didn't indicate they were discounted tickets (get your discounted tickets!, why pay full price etc etc). I assumed they would be the usual $50 plus reserved seats and only clicked on it because a mate is down form Sydney and was trying to get a group together to watch the game.

A small thing perhaps but this adds to a long list of missed marketing opportunities and amateurish communication with members, including but unfortunately not limed to:

  • A woeful website that i barely go to because there is even less content of interest than last year (and less content full stop for that matter)
  • Amateurish use of social media
  • Poor fan -  and worse member - engagement
  • After a bold start with a big sexy ad campaign failure to leverage off the new Melbourne re branding in any meaningful way
  • Making it very difficult to buy merchandise from anywhere but the internet - ironically their latest mail out included a flier encouraging members to buy their demon merch from the demonshop as it is the only place that 100% of all sales go to the direct to the club. Ironic because the demonshop is in a ridiculous location and there is no Melbourne merch available anywhere else (expect at games)

I feel like parking and trains are the only thing ok about Etihad... there are about 6 different parking structures walking distance from the ground and southern cross is setup better than the stations near G. The rest your spot on. I feel souless is the best description. You just dont get that same feeling as you do walking into the MCG

That said come hell or highwater I'm going on Saturday! And every other game we play at Etihad.

Same, seriously people that complain about going there need to get over it and just go to support the team you supposedly love.

It's not the k's that bother me i enjoy going to interstate games.

I don't have 1 good memory from the ground. I was stuck outside in a line the day Juice Newton took a screamer in the first quater.

Whelan showed great sportsmanship the day he broke Nathan Brown's leg but that wasn't a great memory.

The place has no sole.

You cannot create a good memory if you are not there can you?

Dammit I loath that stadium. Was there last night for Adele. Thanks to the poor design it took 1 hour to walk from gate 7 to the train station. Total joke.

If you are a telsta customer there is a thing called Telstra Thanks, $20 tickets, ground level for "away team". L14 is where I am going to be, right next to the race I think.  If you are not a telstra customer, find someone who is lol.

Gee would hate to see when you do bash.

Member engagement must be awful, signed up well ahead of last year

Just watched 2 up to date interviews with Jayden Hunt and Jack Viney on phone app

This one we are going to disagree on Saty.

The MFC site is average I seldom go to it except for some data like match day info etc.

The rest of the time you get the company line.

Which to be honest is probably all it is supposed to do.

You come here if you want to learn anything out side of the company line.

The website is not very interesting but I think it has a lot to do with the AFL having primary control of the club internet rights.

You could use club websites as online portals with ads etc but in reality what would happen is that the big clubs with big supporter bases would benefit the most and the gap between them and us would just grow larger.

Let's face it club communication in public is understandably bland and the website will almost always be full of puffery.

I follow the Redskins.... (they used to be good like Melbourne) so I go to their website occasionally to check their performance. It is chock a block with info but of course a lot more money in the NFL due to the one team cities.

I agree DJ I follow the bears with similar info. Which is interesting since both teams have been "ordinary" for a long time.

The PC have been trying to get rid of your name for a while. I hope they keep resisting.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
