I'm surprised he's got time to go over to G B and run an auction on Bargain Hunt every week....

It must be the long preseason - looks like there are a few with cabin fever.

As an aside came across Ross Funcke last night. Remember him? He's a farmer in Donald and looks as fit as when he played.

my excellent one liner reply got scrubbed but it was funny .

Has @ProDee made another alias?

Why do you ask, Gunga Din ?

I reckon Jack's breakout year was due in no small part to the arrival and mentoring by Brendon McCartney. He seemed to spend a great deal of time with Jack last year and it wouldn't surprise me if he was told to treat Watts as a special case/project when he arrived at the club.

To be honest, I think Watts should have arrived well before now, but I'm happy he is at last getting there.

for sure mccartney has made a hugh difference, dont forget who he had to play under and with in his first few years.the club was a joke so hard for a kid starting out. Then he copped neeld, good grief, he is lucky to have lasted till now.I remember posting on here a few years ago about jack, who wouldnt want a player 6.5 runs like deer kicks like dream

I've tidied up the grammar and filled in the gaps:  (Jack is a) player who is 6.5m tall, runs like a deer and kicks like a dream.

He gets my vote on all counts!

That is rather tall over 21 feet I believe, could be a handy basketballer.

Or displace Gawn in the ruck!

Or be the designated man on the mark for kicks after the siren.

Jack got real good when he was used as ruck relief.

Line in the sand at the beach party moment.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
