Hells Bells followed by the alternative, metal version of the club song.

It's a Grand Old Flag in Hell.

In a bid to enhance the match day experience the AFL purchased the rights to use a few songs.

One song for each team would have been nice.

They have no FI when it comes to music because they are a bogan/ moron organisation.

Next week The Living End get to show us how crap we already know they are.FMD.

We should purchase Hell ain't a bad place to be .let he others use Hells Bells.

I can't answer the first question with conviction other than to say we started playing it last year and I hadn't noticed any other club using it until this year. OP is based on the assumption we were the first to use it.

Other clubs used it last year. I went to another clubs home game last year, and it was played then

I'd rather us run out with a Slayer song playing, no one would be able to top that.

Fair enough, but are there instances of clubs using it before us is the question. My assumption is that we were the first.

And mine was that it was a generic song the MCG played before games. The Dees/Hells Bells connection was a coincidence, I thought

couldn't we just get something nice and typically melbourne that nobody would dare to pinch......like 'something good' from the 'sound of music'

It's been used in the finals for about 3 years, I'm pretty sure we copied it. That being said, it suits us well so we copied it better

We invented the game of football, pioneered the woman's comp... which they've all copied, I reckon we can cope with them taking on that song. Burden of leadership.

The reason 'never tear us apart' works so well is that it is full of emotion and galvanises players and fans.  'A call to arms' so to speak, similar to Liverpool's 'you'll never walk alone'.

I like 'its a grand old flag' after we win games - nothing brings up the emotion more like hearing it after we beat the Hawks.  The song's emotional pull doesn't work so well before the game, imo.

I really like 'hells bells' and it sounds eerie.  But if everyone is going to use then it isn't a good choice for us.  I think a pregame song would work better for us if it spoke to people's hearts as do the two examples above.  Can't think of one right now...

...any ideas?

We're the demons - Hells Bells is very aporopriate. Why don't Geeling go and get something from Andew Lloyd Webber, the Saints something from the Saints and the Hawks from who [censored] cares
