AFL Semi Finals Weekend 2016

Just got an email from NAB offering 2 tickets for the price of one to the Hawks v Bulldogs match. (First time I have ever received such an offer.)

Surprised me a little as I would have thought this match would be heavily attended.

Anyway .............. Go Doggies !!

Doubt I'll have cheered as loudly for an opposition club in the past couple of years as much as I'll be cheering for the doggies on Friday night.  Woof Woof

Hhhmmmm thinking of going Friday and cheering the dogs on.

Plenty of neutrals (myself included) will be doing just that.

Interesting seeing two ex Melbourne players in Fitzpatrick and Frawley bookending the Hawks spine! ?

Hawks already getting umpiring "luck"..... HTB

FFS.  The guy was down getting the ball....pushed in the back....free to bloody Hawks.    Leading to a goal. OMG

God that was good from Chip.

Come on dogies, need a goal! Sounds like there is very little atmosphere early. Dogs fans on edge.

Hawks really do play soccer, counter attack footy. Come on dogs steady! Where are you Stringer?!!!

Kick a bloody goal, Dogs.

How disappointed does Brice sound when Cyrrrrriiil or Popppppy stuff up.  Pathetic.

OMG Dogs.  Going to hand Hawks the game.

Bruce is going to have a heart attack, Cyril's had four touches so far.

I have zero problems with the guy but hearing his name every two seconds is getting sickening.

Yep.  And I looked on the team sheet and I can't see a player whose name is "Poppy".

FFS Bruce. We know you're in love with Hawthorn, but how about maintaining a modicum of professionalism and calling players by their actual names?

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
