I have this unshakable belief in the Dees....hang on, am I drunk?

No...you don't drink I thought. Must be something else.

I have heard the draft falls away after about pick 40. So don't know what the value of a pick in the 40's or 50s is

Around the value of an injury plagued mid that went as a 3rd round pick and has played only 1 senior game in 3 seasons..?

You're right, so what could it be?

Perhaps blind stupidity?

If Michie agrees to come it will be done for pick 54.

Trading our 3rd round for injury plagued unproven player is crazy. He also went pick #44 so its not far off.

Blind loyalty...probably about the same thing.

All I know is that the club had put an offer to him, there is another club that was looking at him and that club has wings.

Yarrawonga Pigeons?

Silly season is back and so am I.

Ok here is what is going to happen if all players agree to come to the Dees.

Viv Michie to Melbourne for pick 54 (4th round pick)

Bernie Vince and Jarryd Lyons to Melbourne for Sylvia Comp pick (20s) or it will be our 2nd rounder one or the other plus our 3rd round pick 34.

Daniel cross Delisted free agent .

Pick 2 we will keep and pick 20 or compo pick. No Suitable trade will get done. So we will have 2 picks in top 30.

You heard it here first.

First one done.

Jarryd Lyons next.

Also hearing David Myers is going to be traded to us if Bernie Vince deal fails. Pick 20 on table for Myers

Now that's an interesting one. Given Myers is younger. Who would we prefer?

Any danger of both? I'd do frigging back flips if we did. Instant midfield.

You'd think it's a chance if we get band 3 for Sylvia. Vince for 20, Myers for 21

But if you had to chose - Vince is the better player now, Myers has the potential to be better. Personally, I would maybe prefer the instant injection of Vince, but would not be displeased with Myers

Does Myers come with a warrantee ?

I think Bernie is GWS bound, sigh was really looking forward to him.

Also on SEN tonight Schwarz was extremely confident we are trading pick 2 to GWS for Dyan Shiel and possibly another player.

Also

@SamLandsberger
If GWS snags pick 2 from Melbourne, bank on a Tom Boyd-Josh Kelly quinella at the draft. Boyd the standout star and SOS a massive Kelly fan

Watch this space guys. Things are happening.

Was only a matter of time.

Cant wait for the floodgates to open.

Imagine if we did:

Pick 2 for Shiel

Pick 20 for Vince

Pick 21 for Myers

Pick 36 for Lyons

Pick 54 for Michie (Done)

I highly doubt we trade our first five picks, but man, our midfield...

N Jones, Viney, Shiel, Vince, Myers, Toumpas, Trengove, Watts, M Jones, Michie, Lyons, Evans, Barry. In addition to KPP's Frawley, McDonald, Garland, Clark, Dawes, Hogan, Gawn.

Things would be well and truly looking up for our football club.

EDIT: Daniel Cross would also be nice :)

Like the thinking but we still need to use 3 picks in the draft. I'd say we will trade a couple of those, but something tells me that if we get a player/players for pick 2 then we may not make too many more deals after that.

Upgrade Clisby and find another Terlich and Jones with the picks in the 60-80s and there's your three. Given the relative age of our list and the urgency of our need to improve the midfield, I'd be quite happy to trade our first 5 picks and not pick a single 18 year old this year.

If our trade period turned out as described by Demonof1994, add "wet my pants" to "do back flips".

Apparently Lyons manger said he is most likely to stay in Adelaide?

List spots though?

Can't remember how many we have free, but I have a feeling we'd have to delist another 3.

Can't help myself:

FB: Terlich Frawley Garland

HB: Clisby McDonald Grimes

C: Watts Shiel Myers

HF: Vince Dawes Trengove

FF: Hogan Clark Howe

RR: Gawn Viney N Jones

I/C: Michie Cross Toumpas Kent

Next 10: Fitzpatrick, M Jones, Dunn, McKenzie, Evans, Lyons, Magner, Barry, Jamar, Blease

Wishful thinking, but if this is us, Round 1 2014:

Yep manager is Lucas who stated that he more likely to stay, but I sensed he was just playing a litle bit of hardball on behalf of Adelaide (being a contracted player I'd suggest this is in Lucus' best interest). However I think he, like Adelaide is looking for a little more. Adelaide wanting a better pick and his client wanting a little more cash to jump ship. I think Lyons wants to come but is holding out for us to increase our offer. I think when we have a clearer idea of our compo for Slyvia we will be able to solidify our offers to players like Lyons.

Looking at that 22 just above makes me realise we are unlikely to bring in so many.

I'm tipping Myers only if we don't get Vince, and not Lyons, then Cross as a FA.

Meaning we only bring in 2 players through trade, unless we trade pick 2 for a Shiel calibre player.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
