Just the sought of thing to make our players take this game in a comfortable mindset, & lose.   And at Casey as well  So the doggies will come switched on for sure.

The Doggies have great fighting spirit at their club now.

Our team is full of talented players for this level, & youngsters who know no better, but in the same breath, its full of players who like things on their terms, & perennial losers a lot of them.

Dunn, Grimes, Garland, Spencer, Kennedy, Terlich,  all have lost far more games, than they have been involved in winning them.

This is a danger game for us.

Ok, ok, it's only Casey, I thought I could get away with being that cocky!

The Casey finals is only delaying the culling process. Who cares about reserves finals.

I usually enjoy your mad posts, but this is not one of them.

I am a big believer in making your VFL affiliate as strong as possible.

I will be following Casey's finals with a keen interest. If they are happy to associate themselves with a team that nobody else would touch over that past decade, that's good enough for me.

Valuable finals experience for our young guys too. Very happy.

Not quite but close enough

Trengrove, Hutchins and ANB also with invites

faultydet, It is good to see that I can get a "bite" from some of you guys out there. Of course players need to play well and establish themselves in the reserves if they wish to play seniors. Possibly didn't apply to Grlett this year. Hopefully the scorps do well.

Newton named in both the Dev team and Firsts??

Looking forward to the game - should get a few D'landers along.  Need to work out the secret handshake thingy.

I enjoy watching some of the peripheral players - Keilty, Joel Smith, Hulett - as much as those that get a run in the MFC team.

Secret handshake is easy. Grab a bacon roll and just wave it about on the outer.

The Green guide is saying ch 7 is televising the first Qualifying Final at 2pm today. That's us and I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Essendon vs Geelong is the televised game... Looking after the bigger clubs.

Nice.  Has Declan been spoken to by any AFL clubs that you're aware of? I haven't seen him play but a few of the regular Casey goers on here have been impressed.

He did some testing with North Melbourne at the end of last year. He has also had contacts with Geelong and Essendon and we believe at least 1 more club is interested in him too.

The Box Hill Development League team holding sway at this stage of the first quarter, leading by 19 points.

The only goal to Casey was scored by Vander Haar.

Box Hill continuing on their merry way kick the first three goals of the second quarter before Casey, through Freeman, get one back. The deficit is 44 points.

have dorks stacked their dev side seeing as how their magoos are out of finals and their seniors are still in finals?

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
