There is, yes.
But I think he's the type of player that would get a deal done, if you really want to make this happen.

Grimes and Dawes are not.

I think Kent and 2017 first rounder would be half a chance to get a deal done for Prestia, if he were to declare his intention to join the MFC.

The most likely scenario, I think, mate. If they end up going for our first rounder next year they'll be losing their VC and a pick 10 (or was it pick 9?), while gaining pick 10-12 and someone like ANB. I think we'd say that's fair given Prestia wants to come home.

With regards to Hibberd, I think it could depend on getting a potential deal done with Prestia, then seeing what we have left.  I must admit, I far prefer the idea of him coming to us as a DFA.

There should be no reason why we will use ANB as trade bait.  2nd year player that Roos picked, developing lovely in the reserves, will only be better next year, he's the type of player that could bite us on the bum if we move on at the end of this year.  And further to that, he's the type of player that if he was at a different club, we'd be wanting to trade in to our team.

Aren't the AFL looking at closing this loophole before the end of 2016?

they've only stated that each pick trade must show a real benefit and not a sham

I would be loathe to give up Kent. he gets bagged on here but he is a bit of a talisman for us. his pace and kicking are elite, and as his tank builds he will become a central player for us. he has the two assets we have in low quantities at present.

His kicking is not elite. Sorry. He's 50/50. Either a beautiful, penetrating kick or a mongrel floater.

Just announced Prestia having surgery (minor) on knee.. His currency is going down..

I would take Mitchell not that he would want to come to us. Let's say Mitchell goes to the Hawks, and Tmac asks to be traded to Sydney, what does that leave us with, a pick? Could we land a player from the Hawks? 

R-Jay I get what you're saying with regards to "tall for a tall"  but it doesn't always work that way. If we are going to lose Tmac I want an established player in return.

On the one hand, good! If his currency's going down, all the better for us.

On the other hand, bad! If he's having surgery now rather than postponing it, either his knee's even worse than it was, or he's decided to stay.

off one foot with little time he is pretty good. yes he kicks floaters but so do other elite kicks under pressure. He is the most pivotal player for us when we are transitioning well from half back to half forward. with pace and kicking.

Kent is one of my favourites and I would never trade him myself, but you've got to give something of value to get something of value. We're hardly going to be able to trade Dawes, Terlich and Newton for Prestia just because there's lots of them.

So maybe tuck that attitude back in mate, or get a better grasp of how trading works.

That's my point, I don't think Prestia is worth Kent, if that makes sense, Kent has finally got a injury free run at it, he has so much potential, to get rid of him now borders on insanity......I know the game is won and lost in the midfield but how many do we want, and small fwds are pretty much covered for me as well..............

I think the people suggesting it were generally saying Kent plus a pick weren't they? Don't think anyone suggested a straight swap, at least that I saw. I love Kent, think he gives us some things we lack, but I do understand that we'd need to give up something of equal value to get Prestia, whereas too many suggest fanciful trades that would never happen in reality.

would not be trading kent - he's young and our best small forward. Jay Kennedy Harris and 1st rounder would do it

Can somebody give me a breakdown as to why we require Prestia   he hasn't set the world on fire up to now   yes he is a good player   

Unless Prestia is having an op and won't play again this season because he has told Gold Coast he is leaving means I would not be interested at all especially at the price quoted. Wonder if the Richmond doctor has checked him out?

Prestia will go to the Tigers for pick 7ish as a straight swap.

The thread title is " How do we get Prestia AND hibberd to the club" the suggestion is we don't get both without giving up a player, Kent being an option. 

Prestia has spent most of the last two years with niggling injuries but was one of the best clearance players in the comp last year anyways, he has a handy turn of speed and very good skills, he in my opinion has the capacity to be a genuine A grade mid and a potential captain down the track, already V/C at the suns. just needs an injury free run. 

landing a player of his quality would be significant for the club, and he would improve the side quite a bit. 

the argument rightly is that because prestia plays mainly as an inside mid, would we have to many of that type, i don't think you can ever have to many quality players, if he wants to join the club, i think we'll get a deal done.

They played Frawley & Howe all season too 'Sat'...it's not a one dimensional indicator that the player mustn't be traded.

Kent is a promising player but you've got to give to get.

What would you say if Kent was part of a deal to get Hurley or a fit O'Meara.
