Different time, different venue,We are better equipped this time around but will have to be at our best to win.

Hope Stringer doesn't come up.

We are playing a team chock full of talent, dash and attack. Not just Stringer despite his attributes. We will need to be at our very best and be able to respond to their attacks on the ball and the scoreline. This will mean everything working from Gawn and the midfield, to a tight defence, and a forward line that can create space and opportunities. Our attack on the ball and opponent, and reduced error/turnover rate will be critical.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I left that game at half time. I don't think I've ever left a game early in more that 30 years. I even sat out the 186 game.

Listening to the radio the boundary rider (Tiffany Cherry?) made the comment that the Dogs players were coming off absolutely knackered. I predicted that they would get flogged by West Coast the following week at Subiaco, and they did (by 77 points). They had beaten West Coast by 10 points at Etihad in round one.

Obviously, limited rotations, a heavier (probably) surface, and a larger ground do not favour their game style.

Yes, that game was an absolute Barry Crocker.

I dare say however, that we will probably field a team with half of its players different to the one that ran out against the Bullies last August and in addition we know that the likes of Nathan Jones, Bernie Vince and Heritier Lumumba were NQR in terms of fitness - all of them undergoing post season surgery.

Also, we take a different attitude into our game most of the time these days.

Look at that, from the Full back line to the Half Forward line only 4 players that played Saturday night. And only 13 of the 22 the same.

For a game not too long ago, Round 20 last year, that's a significant difference!

Like the Saints game a fortnight ago, from the first stages of this game we looked far too slow, I think being at the G this week will be a big leveller.

I think we'd be helped by everyone getting out and doing a rain dance Sunday morning.

Bulldogs are a very good, but young team; the venue is the biggest advantage we have.

This is the biggest test so far this season. Give us good conditions and let's see where we're at.

Geez, we're a different outfit this time around. Our list is getting much stronger.

Just what I was thinking PA. last years corresponding game at the G we won convincingly (Hoges pointing out Boyd getting dragged to Murphy when Bob was trying to put him off kicking for goal).

my boy was in the guard of honour for the first time. It was a great afternoon out (and 100% dry). We don't need it to rain imho.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
