Fox Footy AFL Season 2016 Predictions

Featured Replies

I remember watching last years Fox Footy season predictions and Melbourne was predicted a couple times, possibly more, as wooden spooners. Was great scrolling through the list and seeing nothing but Bummers, Carlscum and Lions as finishing on the bottom. Until I saw this...

Dont know if he's genuinely delusional and can't see the massive progress we've made, or if he just really has it in for this great club. Maybe he's trying to be controversial. Either way, what are all our thoughts on McLure? Seems like an irrelevant stubborn idiot. The kind of dinosaur who'd cut sick if his daughter brought home a boyfriend who wasn't white.

Maclure is way too over emotional. He takes a small point which may be valid and turns it into Armageddon.

He is rarely correct in his predictions . The problem with fox footy is they are on 7 days a week covering every game and this requires a raft of commentators and "experts".

To quote a number of coaches - "we really need to close the gap between our best and our worst" (Maclure to me is one of the worst)

Mclure is a parasite plain and simple.

It continues to amaze me that Fox footy continue to hire this [censored] year after year. He adds nothing but ourdated tactics that might have worked in the 70s.

The quicker he is irrelevant the better.

if we finish below Essendon and Carlton we deserve to be in the VFL and Hogan won't be joining us there haha

McClure:  Plenty of emotion, no analysis, no cognitive ability, no understanding of the modern game, no common sense.  That's the kindest way I can put it!

Let's just all call it  Maclure is a dlckhead !!

How you can have even the likes of the Boos and the Druggies above us is laughable.

Learnt to disregard him eons ago. Cant take seriously. Wgat an idiot.

Who cares what Maclure thinks?

I tend to agree, but I also certainly get my back up when an unrealistic call is made when we don't deserve it anymore.

Really just shows his ineptitude. The great thing is that these days, there wouldn't be anyone agreeing with that.

I provided my insights about Maclure via a twitter response.

Can't stand the [censored]. However, he does sum up the general public apathy towards our club. Outside of those astute enough to realise we are on the up, the general bogan thinks we're a basketcase still. It's going to be lovely sticking it right up a few this year - they will still be making excuses about losses to us for the majority of the year, before the average idiot cottons on to it

McClure is a buffoon. Exists in the media solely to target the oaf demographic.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
