I'm starting this thread because Andy is too much of a gentleman to ask for some help to run this site.

Everyone of us has benefited by the the conversations, banter, humour, despair, joy and excitement of being part of this site.

What else would we be doing during the off-season without our daily dose of Demonland?

To the point, the site costs money to run.  You have all seen the value of the new software that Andy and Nasher have installed.  And guess who paid for that?

What everyone doesn't see is the extra time and labour and tweaking which then has to be done to make it all work.

"Demonland is a Melbourne Football Club fan site powered by fans for the fans. There are many costs associated in bringing you this site. We offer Lifetime and Annual subscriptions so that you can contribute to the running of the site but we are also aware that there are people who want to contribute but can only afford a little bit or have already contributed and want to again. If you would like to make a donation to Demonland it would be greatly appreciated and will go towards running and maintaining this website. "

So without Andy having to ask, perhaps we can all show our gratitude and thanks by tipping in a little toward the target of $2,000.

EDIT: Changed the target to $2,000 which is what it cost Andy to purchase the new software.

Here's starting it off with $100

I can help you with that. I will get back to you shortly. We are currently upgrading the subscription software and it will be online and available soon. I will start up a separate thread when that is ready.

I agree 100% george.  As I said in another thread, I'm an interstate member, and Demonland is my football 'lifeline'.  Long may it prosper, but that won't happen without a hell of a lot of hard work by the dedicated Administrators, and the generosity good will of Demonlanders generally.

Im a life member which was pretty cheap a couple of years back.

If I pay 10cents per hour I read this site, Thats at least 1 hour a day. (sometimes 3) Times 7 equals $.70 a week.

Times 52 = $36.40 a year.

Ive tried to wean myself off Demonland, but like MFC Ive been too long in the wasteland and Im rusted on.

I can easily donate another $36.

i bought a lifetime subscription ages ago. Was very cheap and such a bargain considering how much time i spend on the site and how much i love talking footy with you assholes. Would like to donate again, what's the link?

Cheers. Thank you guys. Your generosity is very much appreciated. Forked out $200 for a club raffle ticket today. Who wants to go to LA with me if I win?

I think their raffles have predetermined results, just like how they reward Melbourne based members that attend every home game and not interstate members who continually renew their membership, and offer incentives to new members.

just my thoughts....

Fifty of real value is done!

Here is a link. http://demonland.com/forums/clients/donations/

There is a link on the homepage too.

Cheers Andy. Happy to contribute.

After so many raffles, I reckon I'm well overdue for a prize this year.

The closest I've come was the China Southern Airlines promotion at the G. My paper plane missed by a bees digit, thanks to a wind shift surrounding the G. Well that's my POV anyway :)

OMG when I went to the donation site it said the total reached was $666. I immediately panicked and tried to add another 50 to get away from that infernal number but the process keeps jamming on a 'share location' pop up. Have tried exiting and starting again three times, but the same thing happens.

That infernal number is my fault. Apologies Doc. #dontpanic

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
