I had a bad feeling they were going to turf him, so glad to see this news. Has to be in front of Dawes on last season's form. Takes more marks, kicks more goals, and competes better in the ruck.

No, it doesn't"

I think if he'd been signed to a three year deal, that would have possibly said something for Dawes, but this one year deal actually says, "you'll be playing second string, unless you prove your worth again".

FWIW, I think he's actually a more damaging role player than Dawes.

Ugh.... Old, slow & now injury prone.

Hardly a morale-boosting signing, and more of a white flag for our trade period.

Amazing how much of a superstar he's apparently become since being out almost the whole year.... #PedoMyths

Not sure he's any slower than Dawes. He takes marks, leads with relative conviction and kicks it pretty well.

Ultimately, it's a one year deal. A good signing for mine.

So, breaking a hand makes one "injury prone"!!!

Seriously, the overrating of this guy is reaching epic proportions.

The marking stats between him and Dawes are pretty much identical, but Dawes covers much more ground and can play more game time. Pedo makes about 3 good leads and then he's spent for the day. Should have been re-rookied as big man injury cover if our list was genuinely improving. His re-signing is a signal that no one is biting on our trade bait.

Well they're both out of contract this time next year so where does that leave us.

We were never going to find a trade suitor for Pedersen. I haven't seen the stats, but I'd be interested to see who had the better scoring stats. Would prefer Pedersen in my team most weeks over Dawes.

Dawes is as useful as half a 3 day old ham and cheese sandwich. A rubber glove nailed to a broomstick has a better chance of taking a mark the Dawes on the lead. This signing shows that.

If you were starving, half of a three day of sandwich would be delicious.

One year deal is about right for him, he's not the future but he is coverage as a forward/ruck. I rate him higher than Dawes, frankly Dawes had a terrible year. Shouldn't be best 22 going forward but you need to keep a few of these players around.

really?

Dawes- 500k+ a year

Pedo- ????? (surely 250k-300k)

Pedo is better then dawes but worth less.

ALSO, the club made a point of re-signing him, which says that they don't have faith in the Hogan combo they have in Dawes (or Frost who is an unproven swing due to injury).

Says a whole heaps actually.

A few of what players..... injury prone, over paid and inept at taking a one grab mark out in front of their bodies ???

Id be giving him the Jamar treatment next year, IMO has played maybe 10- 12 good games since arriving at the club.

Can any one recall a Dawes pack mark ?

no but i saw Dawes drop his car keys at the G once - he bent down and scooped them up with one hand!

Thats about the best thing I've seen him do, really thought he was going to have a career best season

Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE
