Let's not get carried away. Yesterday was a good win and in the context of where we had been it was a tremendous, even team performance. It was very pleasing for Demon fans that we beat a team that we have only beaten once in 10 previous games.

However the effort was first rate and we beat the dogs one on one all over the ground. We out tackled them, beat them in contested possessions and played for four quarters despite the dogs surging back. This was absent against the Hawks and our effort was really poor. If it was a one off then great. Time will tell.

Last week we employed no different tactics against one of the more powerful teams in the comp than we had in the rpevious two weeks against the Swans and Freo. This was my original criticsim in the OP. We allowed the Dorks to dictate terms and got pummelled. Now if the narrative is that we effectively conceded that game to get players focused on the bigger picture - and this turns out to be the case - then that will likely be seen as a masterstroke. But until we win two in a row and we see consistent efforts from players then I won't be celebrating too hard. If they bring the effort against teh dogs to our next three games then yes we can get excited that we may finally have turned a corner.

A turn around of 144 points in a week was not solely to do with the quality of our opposition decreasing. We were a completely different unit yesterday than we were the week before and it's all above the neck. We have been a bit of a see-saw all year really, thinking back to the first 3 rounds we were great, horrific, and great again in defeat. It is all about whether Roos and co can get them to keep bringing it every week.

Watching the bulldogs and saints play the way they do reminds me of Bailey era of 2010 and early 2011.

Say what you want about him but on field he had us on the right track. We were playing some of the most exciting footy i had seen during my time supporting this club. Its no coincidence guys like Frawley Trengove Jurrah Gysberts Scully Grimez were developing really well and all looking like bona fide stars, we were all applauding what a young gun Jordie Mckenzie will be because he was tearing the competition apart with his tackle count. We were heading in the right direction on field.

But thanks to the board administration led by Chris Connelly Cameron Schwab they killed of all the soul and positivity of this club. Im not going to go right into it as i will probably get a couple of weeks if i write on here what i really thought of those two.

But if your board level doesn't support the coach and what he is trying to create you will have your hands tired behind your back which Bailey did unfortunately.
