We could do that, what is the difference between the Howe & Carlisle scenarios? Essendon are looking to deal with the clubs that satisfy their needs versus Melbourne looking to do a deal with the club that suits Howe's needs. Mahoney needs to grow a set, that is the difference.

Last time I checked, Carlisle and his Manager were both on Trade Radio announcing StKilda as their intentional destination.

I don't want to be seen as Howe's apologist but facts are facts.

Under the rules he has the right to prefer a club to go to.

He apparently was a Pies fan as a kid.

He and his girlfriend don't have to leave Melbourne.

He gets to play in front of big crowds in the best timeslots.

Players seem to be reluctant to join GC, like Seedsman today.

He has developed a relationship with Buckley

Yes we would prefer he went to GC, but he doesn't want to.

Howe can eat a dik.. Grow some balls FFS melbourne and [censored] Collingwood! At some point the club has got to do whats best for our backyard and future. Time to change the landscape and go right against Howes decision. Seriously as if the Club is going to bother with in the future like they do with all of our past players.

Olisik, I need you here little buddy...

How would we get Pick 7 out of them (Collingwood)?

If we offload Toumpas to Port for 29, do we give them Howe and 29 for 7?

We won't get Pick 7. That will go to GWS for Treloar.

The PSD is a big threat. I don't think Howe will want to go to Carlton. Force his hand. GC or Carlton.

But doesn't he have the right to go into the ND if he is not cleared by us, like Luke ball did.

Then he could end up anywhere.

So is it Howe for Kennedy yet?? It appears as if we are being watered down but others on here know better.

Spot on.

We need to stand firm.

Don't care if we adopt Brisbane's stance with Aish.

This isn't the free agency Jeremy, you don't hold the cards.

whole f'n thing's a farce if the likes of Howe can dictate terms. The who notion of FA and RFA is a joke as well

wonder if we can get pick 21 + a swap of pick 3 for pick 6 from GC for Howe

Thats a better deal for us.

Surely Gil and Mike would prefer GC receive the highlights reel player. I can see them now at AFL house, hand written placards with #PSD! written on them.

Last time I checked, Carlisle and his Manager were both on Trade Radio announcing StKilda as their intentional destination.

Dodoro was just on the radio saying that he preferred what Hawthorn had offered up & that St.Kilda to this stage havent offered anything that satisfies them. So he made a veiled threat that if St.Kilda don't offer up what Essendon are asking for he can always enter the PSD. There is a big difference between what Dodoro is saying & what Mahoney is saying. People hate dealing with Essendon at trade time because they are hard to deal with, they are looking after their interests. The only way to get what we want in the trade is to play hard ball & to do similar to what Dodoro is doing.

Carlisle & his manager can talk all they want but the clubs have to agree on a trade.

The other factor in that comparison is that Carlisle would probably happily agree to a move to Hawthorn.

Can't say the same about Howe and Gold Coast

He would never take that risk, because he won't end up at Collingwood if he did that, especially given the shallow draft this year.

I would almost be fine with Howe's decision, if the guy didn't d!ck us around all season, delayed contract talks, and decided now, halfway thru trade week, to make up his damn mind.

Just as he is looking out for his own interests, and his own interests only, so should we.

I am sick to death of players thinking they can treat us with contempt because we aren't one of the 'big clubs'.

I would say to him "we'll try to deal with Collingwood, but we won't be giving up a good deal for you, so start looking at Queensland properties or get ready to go to the draft".

This bloke has been around a few season, we plucked him from obscurity and gave him every opportunity to become a professional AFL player. We owe this guy nothing. Absolutely nothing. And he obviously feels the same way about us.

Howe had already spoken to Gold Coast & said he was happy to move there which is why the MFC had already organised the trade. Hence why Mahoney is now [censored] off because Howe or his manager has flip flopped.

Rather than crying about this, I would play hard ball and get on with it. The Pies won't have the picks to satisfy us after Treloar and maybe Aish.

I would rather get into Maynard's ear now and try and convince him to declare us, as where wants to go and then deal for him and Kennedy for Howe.

I would then see if we could get another player like maybe Grimes, to go to GC with 6, for 3 and a pick back to use on Bugg.

Read a report somewhere that Howe/s manager has now stated he doesn't want to move interstate
