How lucky are we to have Dom Tyson!

Thread needs more Dom Tyson love!

Go and re-watch our 2 Port Adel games last year.

4 of the classiest goals you'll see from a midfielder, and I'm pretty sure he snagged 6 Brownlow votes from the 2 games.

I'm going to make a bold prediction that he'll be the best out of his former GWS midfield vintage of Treloar, Shiel, Coniglio and Greene.

IMO this second goal should've gone close to winning GOTY

unbelievable goal - tackles, dispossesses, stands up with ball, 180 turn, completely surrounded, standing start kick, 55 out - hard to find a greater degree of difficulty to pull that off

Agree.

In the goals of the year segment on Brownlow night, neither Tyson or Kent's amazing goal vs Essendon didn't feature.

There certainly hasn't been a hangover from the last No. 12

Playing an outside running role, Matt Jones also looked ok in this footage, but you have to agree with BBP: How lucky are we to have Dom Tyson?

he was dead lucky his shocking handball bounced up well off the ground for tyson

An absolutely fantastic get for the Dees! Thought he would get more brownlow votes but roll on 2015!

Polled well for an unknown 'eyes'. He's a vote getter and potential medalist...

I believe so! 2015 or 2016? Get your money on people!

I think using pick 2 and 20 to get Tyson (who went pick 3 when gws had 1,2 and 3) and the best rated kick in that draft in Salem is a great pick up. A potential number 1 and a player in the top 10 for 2 and 20 sounds great on paper.

Even if Kelly is a bit better then Dom, getting Salem just tops it off the trade really was a win win.
I am looking forward to seeing Dom after his first full preseason in the afl as he was 2nd in our BnF after his first full year of footy.

Brilliant prospect and happy we had the guts to get aggressive with trading instead of holding on to pick 2.

But, at the same time, extremely happy that we retained both picks one and two last year! Hopefully another two superstars added to our improving midfield!

At the start of the season, I just assumed Kelly would end up the better player than Tyson, simply due to MFC's trading and drafting mistakes and/or bad luck.

But from what I saw of Tyson in 2014, I think there's every chance Tyson could be the equal of Kelly - maybe even better.

That being said, Kelly is an amazing user of the footy and looks like he's going to be an elite A grader over the next decade.

Must firstly dye hair blond!

In my opinion Dom hasn't got the attention and accolades he deserves for his season in 2014.

I spoke to a bloke that had some contact with him in earlier yeaes and he couldn't rate him highly enough.

we got a steal no doubt.

Compare his stats to just about any champion of the game at this amount of games and there is no doubt that he is on his way to elite status.

its very exciting times!

The DOMinator!

In my opinion we need to focus less on zero-game pkayers and get around players like Dom.

Pick 20 for pick 9 plus pick 2 for Tyson. It was a lot to give up. I've always thought it was a reasonable deal but we needed Tyson to be a very very good player. Turns out so far he is.

IMHO you're looking at the swap of pick 20 for pick 9 the wrong way. You seem to be suggesting we gave up pick 20 as well as 2 for Tyson. I think it's fair to say now with hindsight that pick 2 for Tyson would have been a worthwhile deal on its own. Upgrading pick 20 to 9 as well was an added bonus not a sacrifice.

Let's move on.

I think Dom will be our most important player in 2015. Other than hopefully taking his game to another level in 2015, it'll show that our development program is getting it's shite together.

Spoke to Dom at great length while they were up here at Maroochydore. He is an outstanding young man. Standing next to him I realised he is also just a kid, a very mature, well spoken, polite, respectful kid, but a kid none the same. I look forward to season 2015, but I'm salivating at what his 2017 will look like (hopefully!).

I saw replay of our Round 4 win against Carlton on Foxfooty on the weekend and he was well of the form he showed as the year stretched on. This year he will be good to go right from Round 1 with the way his preseason is tracking. Will be a good year for him.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
