Alternative strip for 2015?

That's Howe in action in that photo. Not Frawley.

Apologies, It must have been the Red Wine making me blind.

thats not wine me thinks !!

Yes, but when have we ever worn all red?

When have we worn all white? Are you just conditioned to it now?

I am attached to the blood red yolk with the dark navy blue style.

This is everyone's first choice, but we now find AFL Teams dictated to by the AFL (well most are)

I would argue, and have, that the white is more aligned to our history than a movement toward the kind of 'all-red' clash strip that we are talking about.

I would argue that the white is more aligned with the last few years.

I am not going to get into it as I don't mind the red clash strip, but an all red number is a step I am not that comfortable with.

That's fine, it's a big step and I think most have softened their stance on the white strip.

If people thought our last clash strip made us look like Sydney, we would look like GC in all red.

We'd look like Sydney too!

My only argument is this - I didn't mind seing the Bulldogs in all red this year. I don't want to see a red strip being anything other than an away strip when we cant wear our traditional jumper.

If we play Adelaide or St Kilda or other teams away, I would assume the AFL wouldn't allow us to play in the red strip with white shorts. They certainly wouldn't allow the traditional jumper with white shorts.

So, I'm saying I'd rather all red than all white in that situation - I certainly don't want it in place of our navy with red yoke ever.

i'm glad we sorted that out.

I'm glad too...

I don't know why the Bulldogs wore all red, I don't really think it is relevant to this club.

The white is not what I want to see but we have worn all white before in our long history so I won't reject it outright like some have. All red doesn't sit well with me but at the end of the day this is a small issue.

The clash strips look fine, let's move on.

I'm with you rpfc.....I don't like the red....I also think that our coaches and staff should wear the blue polo shirts.....Looks much better....(Red makes Roosy look fat)

Unless you are from 10% of the population ( the very fit ) Red makes everyone look fat.

yep....they finally arrived at a reasonable solution

took 'em long enough...but better late than never.

Pretty well brings us to the end of the line on this subject I'd have thought.

God I hope so bb

Can we now concentrate on winning games

Yes, because I'm sure the same people designing the jumpers are out there training the players.

We can chew gum and walk at the same time.

One might say they didnt design them at all !!:rolleyes:

I hope they force teams like Collingwood, Essendon etc. to get actual away jerseys not the pitiful excuses they bring out now.

Certainly agree re Essendon. However, I don't understand why people drag Collingwood into this issue. While their traditional Guernsey is primarily black, their alternate one is primarily white, and perfectly fine.

Yes, Collingwood is lucky enough to have a terribly boring colour set and design that easily lends itself to be made very dark and then very light, simply by 'drawing the shades'...

here is the comparison (from footyjumpers) for 2014

As stupid as it sounds - black stripes on white is hell of a lot lighter than white stripes on black...

Pretty boring though...

To be thruthful i think Collingwood have been very very clever i this. They have a solution and it hardly dilutes the brand. Am I jealous...you better believe I am lol

I agree, I have no issue with Collingwood's clash jumper.

The Richmond clash jumper is far more of a concern.

Does this mean we now have to have a clash beanie as well?

Not sure if there was another thread for our new away strip but this was the first I found.

So what are the thoughts in the new white away strip since seeing it in action? Personally I think they finally got it right, or at least as good as it could get. To me it's kinda similar to the old NBA simple white alternative uniforms.

My wife bought me one (white, not red) for Xmas, and I think it's a great looking jumper.

What does it look like this year? I have not seen it in detail.

I quite like this one, much better than last year
