Mate I love some of your posts but....This constant MUST....MUST....Must do this and do that is getting a bit tiresome

Do you not think that the players are not trying?....Do you think that the footy Dept is not doing all it can to win games?

All these players, coaches, admin, bootstudders are human they have ups and down like all of us otherwise we may as well have robots out on the field. As you know all clubs have great games and very poor games (yes even Hawthorn).

And how do you know that players did not push past the pain barrier? And just for the record CS did not start World War 2

I will remain a member

After 8 years of total shite I think it's a fair call to demand and accept a better effort.

Sorry if what i say bothers you Boss.

Remember this old Australian Proverb.

"Failure requires no preparation".....

MELBOURNE recruit Jeff Garlett will fight a charge of affray over an altercation outside a CBD bar.

Garlett appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court briefly on Monday when lawyer Bernie Balmer requested the matter be adjourned for a contest mention in March.

Garlett was charged with one count of affray following the alleged fight on August 3.

Speaking outside the court, Mr Balmer said Garlett would argue self-defence.

"At the moment on our advice we're contesting the charges," he told reporters.

"You've got to remember, he got knocked out."

Garlett, who was traded to the Demons from Carlton, was hospitalised with a laceration to the head following the incident.

Four other men have been charged over the alleged fight outside a bar on Lonsdale Street.

Garlett's bail was extended until his next court date on March 20.

Maximum penalty 5 years. Higher chance of conviction if the person has prior history.

Ok.

So are you in the camp that this is a bad thing and we shouldn't hire alleged convicted persons, or that this is a welcome change to the choir boy set any say we cherry pick from?

And that one of those views is the reason why you will/won't re-sign?

Aleady signed on for Redlegs with my wife, daughter, father in law and two nephews.

A few months ago the season could not end quickly enough for me. Right now I want the season to start again, cant wait to see the new boys run out in the red and blue and like every year I am quietly optimistic about a top 8 and wishing for a top four finish. I think when it turns around it will happen quickly, we have some very good players and are filling some more gaps this off season. If we can get 30-40 goals from a couple of players we will be right int them mix. Garlett, Howem Hogan and Dawes, I am looking at you.

I hope the club honours Tulip at the opening round and the faithful come out in numbers.

Go Dees

Hope springs eternal!

You're not a supporter if you're not financial....you're just a barracker.

Total agreement there. Get on board or like cockroaches scurry away when the going gets tough!

I am a member so be it.

I had the pleasure of meeting Burgo at a show . Great guy quick chat , people are working extremely hard in all departments at the club . Goodwin and McCartney are great additions . Best shape the club has been in in years.

Also - Aussie rock royalty and gun graphic designer working full time at the club.

Talented bunch all round by the look of it.

We will make finals again this year or next imo.

I cancelled my dedicated demon "Legends Membership"

The first time ever I have cancelled.

I had a call from Brooklyn Fraser - Membership.

She asked if that was a mistake? We went into a long conversation.

In the end I accepted to downgrade to a Redlegs home game membership.

No sponsorships, no pet membership.

So if anyone is looking for a seat in the legends area N49 Row M ( back row)

Then mine is available. ( 4 seats from Glenn Bartlett )

I will always be a member, but this is just rubbish. "Support" doesn't just need to be financial, it does help but saying that someone is just a "barracker" is arrogant and rude.

If you have the finances to pay for a membership, and you choose not to buy one, are you really 'supporting' the club?

IMO, no, you're not.

Buy a membership, just don't turn up to watch. No crowd in the outer sends the message

I have been a paid up member for as long as I can remember. I am always optimistic at this time of the year because of the BUTT factor ( burning up the track).

I will say I have got despondent during the year and opted to curl up in the corner in the fetal position sucking my thumb rather than go and watch the game. I just couldn't imagine not getting a membership ( financial reasons aside).

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
