I'm still not convinced the media are correct with McCartin going to St Kilda although I am hopeful.

Then again I can't see anything wrong with drafting McCartin if Petracca goes first. Especially if we're still backing ourselves in for a big name FA midfielder next trade period.

I hope the saints take petracca I think brayshaw and mccartin is a better result for our list if we use picks 40 and 53 well

I dont . I think we can far easier pinch hit with another tall forward than we can in the midfield. Keep in mind Midfielders can score goals, very few fwds run through the guts

I agree, always been hoping for the Brayshaw, McCartin double but wont be disappointed at all if we get AB and CP. Cant lose. Well...we cant lose today at least !

Welcome to the Melbourne Football Club Angus Brayshaw and Christian Petrracca or Patrick McCartin.

Have a good feeling about this one :)

live on what....just asking :)

Everyone seems so at ease (read excited) with us taking Petracca now that we have the 'inside word' of what the Saints are to do.

Are there any people on here who still would prefer McCartin?

I dont think we'd lose out with Paddy.. The forward line would become possibly horrendous for opponents but I just have a gut feeling we'll be better off loading the guts with go at it players and as such Petracca seems a better prize.

Others suggest we cant really lose and we cant ( surely...surely we couldnt ) but i think you win more with one than the other.

We'll know soon :)

We all know how our past draft picks have worked out. After so many years of mediocracy this time of the year for most of us, is one of hope and genuine excitement.

If you choose to be so negative about it, then that's also your choice.

I think you just coined a new word there - a good one!

Yes, but what happened to all my Demon friends who wanted another key forward?!

We are easily beaten into submission these days rpfc.

Constant defeat will do that to you.

Yes.

Luckily for them we are crappy in the midfield too and Petracca can help with that.

That leaves a lot of players!

For expediency, I rephrase - Roos said we will take whoever StKilda dont take out of Brayshaw, Petracca and McCartin

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
