Has Kennedy still got that weird tippy-toes run-up when he lines up for goal?

Not sure if quality troll...

Yes, I agree.

another year of watching us hopelessly uncompetitive is unpalatable to everyone, players, coaches, us the supporters, and the afl in general. While we wait for the 18year olds to get 50 games into them, we lose supporters, members, sponsors, hope. We can't wait, we have to improve significantly now. This is the way to operate in this new landscape, not saying it's good, but it's the pragmatic decision that has to be made. Gusty move, well done dees

We are substituting 3 potentially good players for 1 A+ grader, as such our list will have a couple of very ordinary players to make up the numbers. One A grader is not going to win us lots of games by himself, I have seen melbourne go down this path before with Tilbrook, Moore, Templeton, Clarke, etc.... we need a champion team not a team with a couple of champions in it.

HL and Frost will help build up our backline, Stretch will add to the midfield and garlett and Hogan will add to our goal scoring capability. take two or three more top draft picks and add them to the midfield and we will be a heck of a lot more competitive next year. This year we probably had another 3 or 4 games we possibly could have won but we were still playing some pretty ordinary players who lacked skill, spending all our picks on one players means we keep more ordinary folk on our list. and god help us if we end up with our A+ player coming down with a long term injury. Supporters want to see improvement and know its going to be a few years before we are playing top grade football, buying one player is not going to get us up to that level any quicker when we still have to have two more ordinary players to make up the numbers.

How long before the hack journos start tweeting this trade scenario as a scoop?

Do you not understand that those same ordinary players will still be playing next year, even if we keep the picks? Two 18 year-olds won't be making an on-field difference next year, they will almost certainly be developing at Casey.

Am I the only one who thinks that the people reading this bs on here then running onto Facebook and Twitter with it, are making us melbourne supporters look like complete fool?..

Don't see any other clubs supporters get carried away with such bs!

I can confirm that we are definitely giving up picks 2 & 3 for Kennedy and 39. The pick we will receive will go to Collingwood to get Lumumba. The Clark deal seems to be very messy thanks to Collingwood, expect to get next to nothing for Clark.

We should have stopped dealing with Collingwood ages ago. Instead we should have gone straight to North and offered Clark for Greenwood

no one needs hope like us.

I've already posted this aint happening. near as gospel

but you heroes potting the bloke who started the thread....seriously

no doubt he thinks he's got a scoop. good on him.

offering more than most

I will always remember what I was doing the Josh Kennedy deal died.

Reading through the presumptive scenarios of illiterates and jock sniffers on Demonland.

no one needs hope like us.

Nail -> Head.

why can't we grab another midfielder from GWS with pick 3 for a pick downgrade? we need more depth. I've been burned by the superstar/messiah experience after Clark.

I just want a star player at the club, WE need one. I want to see wins. I have seen no stars and little wins. It's easy for me, I hope we get him even if massive overs.

We don't all have time to submit 23k posts BB!

Everything is relative

so is your fan club club apparently

Anyone can start a bs thread!.. Everyone has done it.. But obviously ppl r taking this way too serious.. I love this footy club just as much as any of u on here!..

But [censored] me it's embarrassing reading it all over fb and watching ppl make fools of themselves believing this [censored]..

The kicker after the anouncement will be, " and in further developments, Sydney has on traded pick 3 to Adelaide for Patrick Dangerfield".

Yes i understand that they may not get many games though being big bodied mids they may find they can cope, quite a few sides had their first round draft picks playing early and regularly. Having 3 draftees means we have to cut out two or more superfluous/ordinary players that we may have had to keep if we only had one A+ grader like Kennedy. Again you also have to consider the risk if Kennedy sustains a long term injury, where does that leave us.

You used to be cool.

Now you're just bringing us bad news and putting distance between me and my lover Josh Kennedy.

Why so mean?

What, do you expect them to say to a journo? "Yeah Pete, you caught us. We are trading for Kennedy. Here's the story, you can announce it before we do. That's why we've kept it secret throughout the whole trade period - so you can have the glory of reporting it"

Pete Ryan does most of our reporting for AFL.com.au. He's our go to man whenever we've got a story we want out presented in a fair way. He'd probably be the guy who gets the scoop on Kennedy if it did happen. So I'd suggest if their was truth in it we might lie or avoid the question but not categorically deny it.

They cant trade players in for 3 years. Ryder was close to heading to swans "apparently".

Rule #1 in Trade week

All bets are off...dont believe anything til it's lodged

god I love it :)

What sort of pick could we get for Watts/Salem/Toumpas?

Also, haven't most players requesting a trade, or who have been traded had around 1 year to go on their contract? Trading a 3-4 year to go player is mental.

I want to see what GNF says when he unscrambles his riddles, just for lols.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
