The Josh Kennedy Revelation

26 years old? could have 6 years left

Yeah, personally I wouldn't pull the trigger on this trade.

I'd rather we backed ourselves in with the draft.

If Roos wouldn't give away 2 and 3 for Dangerfield - then they won't go for Kennedy.

So maybe pick 3 at tops.

Disagree - The age gap between the two is offset by the fact that Kennedy is simply a better footballer.

If we can get him and keep pick 2 then that's a pretty good result. If we lose both 2 & 3 then we're giving up a lot.

But, on the other hand he'll instantly become our best midfielder (if not our best player), it's a tough one.

Pick 3 and a later pick sure. 2 & 3 = no no no no no

Ryan Dee says we are paying overs so it wont be 3 and later pick. Our best hope is we give a bit more and get another player as well.

Picks 2 & 3, for Kennedy and 39. Pick 39 will be used to get in another player, although I was not told the specifics of this other deal.

Que the Picks 2 + 3 for Kennedy + Jones suggestions

I'd be happy to give up 2 or 3 and Watts for Kennedy.

Picks 2 & 3 is way overs for Kennedy. Not even Judd was worth that.

Not possible,

39, which is now 41 is Billy Stretch

Surely not?

That makes the Judd deal look unbelievable for Carlton.

Syd pick 39? So we couldn't even get Sydney's 1st rounder back!! WOW we look desperate!

And if the other player doesn't come from Sydney what sort of player are we going to get for # 39.

What's your source? Are you an old mate of Kennedy's or is it from club level? I could probably live with that trade, depending on who the other player is.

We would be getting 39, not giving it.

Kennedy and Mitchell for 2 & 3 I'd be ok with but would still rather get Brayshaw.

Would want to be getting more than Joey Kennedy for picks 2 & 3, we would be wanting another player in return possibly Sam Reid who was discussed earlier in the year. He might be an AFL gun but really we are giving up a lot for him and I believe Pick 2 or 3 & 23 would get it done

Hmmmm, Dangerfield, Beams and now Kennedy.....

I believe nothing anymore, just bring on Thursday FFS so all this anticipation can be over!

Yes it is thats the swans compo pick

2 AND 3??

I'm breathing into a brown paper bag over here.

Agreed but inflation has stormed in to the comp and Roos is on a short tenure,. We neeed to do something ASAP. So it could happen....

Yeh, Matt Jones, they can have him.

As exciting as landing a player of his calibre is, if Brayshaw and Petracca were there at picks two and three and they become bonafide Stars of the comp I'd be sick to the stomach.

I should solve riddles for a living if this comes true.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
