I'm far from convinced that I'll be going upstairs old dee, but I've made a pledge to anyone prepared to listen (which is not very many!) that I'm not leaving this world until we have number 13.

Yze?

Given the amount of "stick" Saty (the most prolific training reporter) has copped on here since the weekend, I personally wouldn't blame him in the least if he gives this a wide berth (assuming he went).

I heard it was cancelled

No one gave a toss hardtack

For what it's worth I'll give my two cents on training. My main reason for going was to see Jesse Hogan and how he was progressing. He seemed good, although there's something about the way he jogs that seems weird. I'm not a bio-mechanic but it just appears he slumps to one side.

Anyway on actual training, Fitzy for me today seemed really up and about, perhaps they've had a chat to him about 2015 and he's got a little confidence on the back of WC game. Nate Jones and Tyson w're stand outs in the skills department.

They did a few match sim drills where they had to translation from the backline. Pretty scrappy at times. I really hope we are able to recruit some players with skill.

Well I am glad they don't train different to how they play on game day Pates

I agree bb I am going through the motions at present I know how they feel.

Gee I thought it was a training thread, no it's just OD coughing up bile.

It was a beautiful sunny morning, so yes I went, this afternoon to be spent typing on here and burning whatever bridges I have left at my employer, today is my last day here.

Hogan, Jayden Hunt, Jack Grimes, JKH and Tapscott were the only ones training who I think will not be picked this Saturday, Nicholson and McKenzie were training with the group.

Missing is easier, and I am bound to forget some, so ask, Blease, Strauss, Georgiou, Evans, Garland, Spencer, Trengove, King, Toumpas, Clisby, Terlich, Harmes, actually I have used the club website so if they are not listed above they were training.

Looks like Bail, Riley and Terlich got one year contracts, could only get to Roh Bail to confirm.

Roos had a long chat to the group towards the end, gathered it was one last pep talk along the lines of it is Etihad and Norths, but it is the last game, let's have a real crack.

Pates' really needs to see more of Hogan to realise that's how he runs (not a thing of beauty), he was doing laps with Jayden Hunt who has a classic running style and had no problems keeping pace.

The drills were ok, a couple of missed targets, but then again.

Thanks Sati.......For all your info at training through out the year.......I look forward to reading about Pre Season training

Thanks and good luck with the next gig

as to the footy

Any inkling as to where Chip might play as often you've noted they at some point split into respective groups ? I would have thought as a back...but am guessing sitting here on a break :)

Dawes left early but didn't seem hindered

Jack Viney is looking forward to one last crack then a quick holiday in Vietnam and back into it, agrees with Roos that a full pre season will do wonders for Salem, Toumpas, Tyson, Riley, himself

Salem absolutely shattered that Giroud out till Xmas with an ankle injury

A quick example of how insular the players can become, Max Gawn wanted to know why if I am going for interviews in the Corporate world, I had to shave off my long hair and trim my beard right back "I thought they would just let you be yourself"

Saty - were you at Chaddy at lunchtime ?

On Frawley, think he might play back this week, that's where he was when they did a full field drill, so was Watts again, Garland is out so I suppose it is on how many talls Norths play. On where he is headed, no idea, he was right in the middle of everything as per usual

It is amazing Saty honestly most of them have little idea how well of they are on an AFL list.

Thanks for the report.

it is quite an insular environment.

having motions and posting at the same time. very impressive od

I was thinking earlier which may seem crazy but I'll put it out there anyway.

Should the club keep training as if it is in the finals and then take a break later on the year like the finals teams do? That way they could be less likely to burn out in July/August.

is an idea but i fear some will struggle to make it to the final siren on Sat !! let alone next week lol

Interesting. But I think overall the benefits are to get the rest as soon as the season starts and then build up longer. Plus there's a few guys (Spencer, Trengove) who can't train now anyway plus do you keep the delistings training?

Physical exhaustion shouldn't be too much difference I wouldn't think. Besides just some light stuff whilst overseas or straight after the year don't the players do pretty intense training all year round no matter if in season, preseason or holidays? Mental exhaustion sure, but starting early probably gives you a longer christmas break, an opportunity for a long weekend prior to the season and then use of the bye weeks.

You a plumber old dee ?
