I really admire the young mans attitude after reading the article on the afl site....

After so many injuries to stay so positive. And most of all to admit openly that he cried for 20 min after hearing he needed another reco....takes a big man IMO, as the industry is obviously all about the image of being strong/tough/hard etc

Where else was he going to go once he did his knee again?

Don't think there would be too many clubs will to take the risk at this stage.

Clearly interest from other clubs rapidly dried up after the injury, or at least their offers fell well short of what was required to entice him away, following the knee going again.

Either way, it'd now take a lot more to drag away a KPF from GWS unless its Tomlinson or Jaksch.

Considering I'm keen on getting Tomlinson, I think the cards have fallen our way a bit.

GWS probably taking the advantage to undercut his pay while his vulnerable.

How would you know I am wrong? are you apart of the GWS administration or just talking [censored] like usual?

Another piece of the pact jigsaw puzzle falls into place.....

If the bulldogs offer was true, and he wasn't injured I reckon he would have blown he pact idea out the window, would be silly for a bloke to knock back moving home and securing his financial future all at the same time,

I think the Injury has possibly limited his options a little bit

True, but not everyone gets massive multi million dollar deals to move home waved under their noses either, I have no idea if the Bulldogs offer was true or not but I reckon it would have been bloody tempting if it was

Okay, but if both clubs are close in the coin, GWS will be the new monster of the AFL, not the Bulldogs. Players play for success and premierships....look at the Cats.

Think of potential endorsements, extra incentives, yada yada....

the Bulldogs look to be tracking fine to me, especially if they add a key forward to that mix, the Giants have a raft of young stars who are all going to demand big dollars, Cameron is going to be offered big dollars by rival clubs, as is Shiel, as is Treloar, it will be interesting to see if they take significant pay cuts to stay together

FWIW I think the Suns will be the new monster of the AFL, they look to be improving at a much steeper rate than the Giants imo

Bulldogs are just tracking, nothing special.

I'm not convinced the money is only incentive for these players.

I'd argue the Giants aren't settle the world on fire yet either, but I am sure it's going to turn really quickly for them when it does, next year will be a real test, if they have a bad year the players will be copping serious offers from all angles.

But for the Bulldogs I think the expectation is the will push up towards the 8 next year and I think with a key forward being added to the mix they would be a very good chance, will be interesting to see if they turn their attention to Boyd or Cameron now

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
