Trengove cleared by ASADA

Curiouser and Curiouser. I thought this was what the Essendon players had been charged for. If not this, what?

Weird the headline is about Trenners and not them. Jackson was very adamant from the beginning he was in the clear.

Ooh Ahh!! Just noticed that is my 400th post.

TB4. (Thymosin Beta 4)

Was never that worried about this, so much so that I'd forgotten about it. Still good to have closure.

Sucked in bumbers.

U r on your own with no one else to blame or bring in to your BS.

Another truly objectionable article among a welter of rubbish pieces written in our media about this subject. I think what he really means to say is that because ASADA has decided not to pursue AOD9604 because of the timing and way in which its status was announced by WADA in 2013, then Jack and any other athlete who might have been treated with it won't be pursued.

There were reports a while ago that Jack had already been cleared suggesting there was no evidence he had been treated with a cream containing AOD9604 so, whatever the case, he was in the clear.

IMO, those who ingested AOD9604 in the quantities mentioned in earlier reports and breathing a sigh of relief over this have no reason to take comfort yet. There are the health effects to consider (S0 means a drug had not yet been tested and approved for human consumption) and WADA has the power to come over the top of a decision not to pursue those who consumed a prohibited substance through appeal to CAS. I would imagine however, that if infraction notices are issued against players over TB4 then WADA won't bother.

Wasn't Dunn supposed to be caught up in the Dank scandal, per that ABC program early last year.

From memory he and a couple of other players went off site to have injections organised by Dank and approved by the Club Doctor. But unlike the Dons it was just vitamins and was clearly documented and recorded, so no issue.

Thanks. I thought they were the same thing. So those emails Dank said he had from ASADA were only to do with AOD 9604 and TB4 is unrelated and I take it was always a banned substance.

Were we ever being investigated by ASADA?

I thought us, Gold Coast and Geelong were going to be investigated by them at some stage? Could be wrong.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.
