A poofteenth over 22000 on a Saturday afternoon and not a peep from the media about low crowd numbers.

We'd be copping it left right and centre if that was us...

Lets get to the G today and give the druggies hell!!!

I recall one weekend about 2 years ago, Drain Russell lambasting us for getting about 22000 to a sunday mother's day game against an interstate side, while at the same time saying that a Port crowd at home of about 7000 the week before in a reasonable time slot was ok, because they were struggling at the time.

We can all recall of course how brilliantly we were travelling in the last 2 years when this happened.

I feel like Denham, Barrett and occasionally Wilson, Russell really has some problem with the MFC.

Regard less of what he thinks of us, I have listened to Duhwayne a couple of times recently and come to the conclusion he may, objectively speaking, simply be the single worst commentator on tv or radio.

He offers no insights to the game, appears to know nothing of strategy, and simply engages in torrents of speculation about what might or might not happen next.

Truly ordinary.

No argument from me.

Interstate crowds are all doing well this year, but the Melbourne crowds are by and large down.

IMO, part of this is because the games on Channel 7 are boring. They are all the same sides (it's always Essendon, Geelong, Carlton, Richmond) and some of the games have been really bad. That leads to a lack of interest in the game on TV, which detracts from the game overall.

In addition, the varying time slots are hurting people. Footy is like a routine for a lot of people - it used to be easy, 2.10 on a Saturday or a Sunday. I understand the need to have multiple slots and games can't always be the same time, but at the other end of the spectrum some of the slots are awful (3.20 and 4.40 are late times to be starting games IMO).

I was watching with a mate and he commented on how purple the crowd was for a game in Melbourne

are you suggesting richmond supporters were exposing themselves?

St. Kilda is copping an absolute flogging by the cats so far. I am in disbelief why the blowtorch hasn't been set on this club. They cop a 140 point point flogging from the hawks and you hear nothing. We lose to Collingwood last week and we are accused of ruining the game.

I hope they get a demolishing from the cats today. Cannot stand them one bit. Their culture is is horrendous and we hear nothing about that.

Why was my topic thread merged? This has got nothing to do with Round 13. This was about St Kilda the football club.

Disappointing.

Three quarter time and Geelong have 20 free kicks. I think its time a team's scores were indexed to the number of free kicks received. On that basis, I reckon we would have scored about 12 goals against Collingwood had we been paid 20 frees and won comfortably.

I really like that Roos is persistent in his "appraisal" of the umpiring.

Ought to be interesting to see if we only get 5 frees again today.

Doggies giving the Pies a run..

Currently up a goal near 1/2 time

that bulldogs pies game was great to watch. I dont feel as annoyed as I did when we lost to the dogs. They put on a great show today. Cop that Bucks. Could have waltzed into the top 4.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
