GAMEDAY - Round 8

Jamar is giving Minson a complete and utter bath.

Bubbles and rubber duck included.

Apparently that was the Dogs FIRST mark all quarter, and we're 13 minutes in (out of the full 20 minutes). Serious credit to Roos and the boys there.

I will be seriously [censored] off if we don't win this game tonight.

Last year we'd of been blown out by half time.

"Bail, has to be perfect... and he is."

What just happened?

Paul Roos happened. Rohan Bail, Lynden Dunn and Cam Pederson have really come on this year.

Play on not 10m....

Last week Melbourne was being called Play on after 20m kicks. Will Minson marks a 10m ball and is given the kick.

Bail hits up James Frawley with a beautiful pass. His disposal has come on in leaps and bounds this year.

Bail has been impressive tonight, I think Bail and Jetta have a future.

And I like Matt Jones confidence, he demands the ball, hasn't done heaps, but he is confident in himself at least.

Keep that long run-up Frawley. It works for you. Goal from outside 50 to get us back in front. Now can we run away like we've been threatening to do all night?

You just feel that we are about to kick away, but the dogs keep getting a lucky goal and sway the momentum.

Jones gone for a few weeks, Morris should go too.

Tyson is amazing

COME ON DEMONS DONT BLOW IT!!!!!!!

^^^^^ Yes. Was just gonna say the same thing. He's in everything, just goes forward either by hand or by foot.

Tyson is a [censored] gem of a footballer.

How he finds room and time in the middle of packs has got me stuffed.

Too late to find room on the Tyson bandwagon?

Oh god that Minson kick was absolute horseshit. 15 metres MY ASS.

But we're in front, and that's a rarity at 3QTR time.

And that rule that pings a free AGAINST Crossy when he's going in for the ball but has his head collected by a knee? [censored] RIDICULOUS.

Wow we got an absolute star in Tyson, he is so so so very good in tight. Seems to get hands on the ball so often, keeps his arms free and has the ability to side step. If he could kick like Vince he'd be magnificent. We've been waiting for an on ball gun for 15 years, I think we have our man.

We really should win this now, one point will do.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
