So IMO we should find an inner suburban place to put down roots & to call Home. 

And we should also continue to develop our region out around the Sth Eastern fringes.  We need to start to put more efforts into this & this years grand final appearance may be the right directio0n for starters.

But I don't think Cranbourne is the right specific area.

I would prefer to be on the Gippsland train line around Hallam or Narre Warren areas, or even Berwick/Packenham.

 

Cosying up to the Mcc is just giving up.  This reliance on the Mcc & Mcg as shelter, is the reason we are already in this financial hole & lacking a long-term steady membership base.

This makes no sense whatsoever. The CBD and inner suburbs have the fastest growing population in Melbourne. This is an area who's name we own and we should be able to grow that supporter base. Why would we throw that away to make a base in Bentley or Glen Iris?

Losing members is not a part of any plan, & there is no implication from me, for you fellows or any other to drop off.a perch.  But rather father time will call stumps on all Mcc members eventually,  just like we all do go by the wayside of life.

 

The issue with the club is it is seen as clicky & elite;  & really owned by those looking down their noses at the rest of us.  

Most Australians hate this sort of snobbery, & will only barrack against such a perceived club.

I think the days of locality specific supporter bases may be a bit last century

Are inner city denizens fans of footy? - relative to suburban folk?

I like that we are seen as the toffs

Look at the queues of hoi polloi desperate to get admission to the mcc and private schooling and realise that admission to "elite" spaces is popular

Embrace it - when we get good I will be putting on a top hat putting on the ritz!
