GAME DAY - ROUND THREE

Terlich again. Absolutely hopeless decision maker.

Again, Terlich gets the ball, again there is an immediate turnover. Radio makes it hard to work out who does what but I'm not kidding when I say that every time Terlich touches it we seem to turn it over straight away.

Even the scoring worm on the AFL app looks depressed.

It's probably just disinterested and waiting for the season to end.

Unfortunately as much as i like the Frawley move i can't recall him taking too many contested marks in general play?? Need to hit him on the lead i would think.... Tyson? The Toump has the highest efficiency in the team atm but isn't playing. Frawley and Watts next. Frawley can't kick it to himself though and has Watts even had a kick lol?

Pencil getting smashed by Mumford. Hitouts 17 - 3

Turnovers from both sides, GWS not exactly lighting it up, which is obviously keeping us in it.

Vince takes the shot from 50, but not enough, and it's rushed through.

1.2.8 to 0.4.4.

We've essentially done all the scoring for the last 20 minutes of play, for 4 behinds.

On the radio they said it was very swirly, and probably slightly favouring GWS in the first quarter.

So our usual shots at goal have half a chance?

This is a run and carry to i30 and shot on goal game if i've ever heard one. Not going to score much from 40 or more out i would think. Time to sub Fitzy and get JHK on and up forward to crumb

I'm wondering if we'll actually score a goal for the whole match lol

Back to the VFL, Evans.

You won't get anywhere with Matt Jones and Terlich.

Add Byrnes and Grimes. Maybe Evans although I'd judge him after a couple more games.

Can't even kick a goal against GWS. Putting new players up forward and giving them just as little chance.

Melbourne 44% kicking efficiency

Great.

Kicking efficieny so far in 2nd quarter

Demons 44%

Giants 50%

The wind wouldn't be helping but sheez

Grimes is a cat

I wonder if after getting run down from behind a few times (including the broken collar bone) he's so worried about it he's now panicking and dishing off fumbling shoddy handballs at world record pace. He's making Matt Jones look clean by hand.

Goal to Patton.

2.4.16 to 0.4.4

We're also now getting smashed in the clearances, it's now 21-9.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
