Hi guys after a long absence Im back. Use to go under the user name of Billy Baxter with the Darren Bennett pic but had to change due to failing to recall password and info for old computer that has gone to god.

Anyway Ive said this before and I will say it again, in the absence of quality forwards Dunney needs to go forward to help Howe and probably Watts as well. Dunny started his career as a forward and I remember him playing CHF one night when Miller pulled out against Geelong on a friday night at the G and he kicked 4 and we won the game.

He plays tall and can easily move forward. Pedo is useless in our forward 50 and needs to go back until Judy Garland is fit.

We need to try and manufacture something up forward that works and Howey has put in too shockers so he needs support.

Gotta feel for Howey. Hear a lot going on about his lack of form in the first two games. He's playing outside his natural role, with no assistance, and is getting double tagged by opposition players. What else can the guy realistically do?

Just get Dunn down there with Watts, Howe and JKH and see what happens. That's a nice spread of tall, short, classy and fast targets.

Well I like the tone in his presser tonight. Think we'll be in for a few changes next week. I like the idea of settling players into positions and giving them time to bed into their roles. But these are extenuating circumstances and if we don't make changes it will only encourage complacency.

well, this is what happened in the 2nd half from what I saw, we switched Dunn forward, and Pedersen played down back... not that the game had my full attention after half time...

I call BS. We've never beaten Geelong.

Seriously though, it's bizarre that Dunn hasn't been thrown forward. He's been competent down back when he presented well yesterday when forward, and gets the pill when on the wing. He's a booming kick and we need more of his run.

Dunn was playing well in the backline before he was moved forward and didn't do too badly then, either. Pederson looked much more comfortable when he went to the backline for a stint but couldn't be left there because Roos needed to play him somewhere where could get a rest so he could help out Spencer. It's a crook team when the clearly not-up-to it Pederson has to remain on the ground because the even worse Fitzpatrick had to be subbed out.

Dunn has significantly improved his performance in the last 12 months after being moved all around the paddock to try and find his correct position. I'd hate to see him go backwards as a result of him once again being shunted around - so he should stay in the backline and when Garland returns, he (Garland) should be played forward until the real forwards return..

He could start with hanging on to uncontested chest marks instead of faceplanting and somersaulting like you might see a 5 year old do if he was attempting to mark a football, you know, show some indication that he makes several-hundred $K a year and trains basically every day as an elite sportsman.. that would be a start.

When did that happen? I saw the pic in the other thread from AFL.com.au but must have missed it at the game (or I had already left).

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
