You are contradicting yourself. You admit we're not 'overly' profitable, you admit we are suffering from poor decision making, you admit we are struggling with payouts but you still wont concede that selling home games is a part of our solution.

Look at the evidence. Why is Hawthorn flying? Anything to do with selling home games to Tassie? Any reason why North, Richmond and St Kilda are all selling home games?

It's a catch 22; we are not profitable, so we sell games interstate to make some money, but will continue to lose ground here if we continue to sell games interstate.

How attractive are we if we only have 9 home games a year and most of them against other bottom, poor drawing clubs?

When do you draw the line and say, we are a Victorian club, we will play our home games in Victoria and not be part of the circuit where the highest bidder, each year, will secure our services?

You can't compare us to Hawthorn, they are a very successful club with a massive following, that's taken up residence for half the season about an hour and $100 away from here; it probably takes longer to get to Geelong than Tassie.

But they wouldn't know that, because unlike us, they never play there.

Hey chap, ever been to a Darwin game, I have, 3 of them, (not this year unfortunately life and a daughters wedding took priority), last time I was up there went to a local shop, we stay out of the city centre and shopkeeper (who was Asian) chatted happily to me about the footy, knew quite a bit about the Dees.....so sorry you are wrong.......by the way, I travel to quite a few games, and if you are talking proximity, how about living on the corner of Vic Parade and Hoddle St, is that close enough to the G.

since the MFC has been going to Darwin we have struggled to beat time with a stick.

So many arguments spun about handfuls of numbers where the greatest influence and potential of Melbourne ..is right here in this city. Plus the fact they are a "start up club" with no previous support; we are an established club with a dormant supporter base that will remain so as long as we make it unattractive to support us.

We can flounder around in Darwin, attracting no support and derision from the rest of the AFL supporters, or try to turn it around here and satisfy the 90% plus supporters that live here.

I don't have any issues with Darwin, but at the moment it doesn't seem to have done us a lot of good.

I haven't been to Etihad since 2005. Not enough leg room.
