Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

My dream is for the Eagles to be implicated in all of this.

I hate the Eagles and the way their fans carry on, more than anyother sporting club in any code, anywhere.

I could not disagree anymore with you.

Alright, sure their supporters are terrible, but what a team.

Got my vote Belzebub :)

You would throw everything at them at the moment Sloonie, even that flat pack kitchen sink that caused you grief before!

Nb. Still trying to move on from that "tools in girls hands" comment you made. Giggity.

Terrible news for all sports fans and potentially changes the landscape completely. Happy about none of this.

Updated my blog is anyone's interested: http://wmth.wordpress.com/

Australian sport has perhaps felt impervious to this sort of corruption. Incredible amount of deceit for god knows how long.

i'm speachless

The schadenfreude for Essendon's woes I can understand but dont agree with.

The hatred for Collingwood is old school but Eddie has supported Demons in the recent past, even if his support is eddie centric and flawed. I have no feeling for them.

If however the club was the hawthorns, I would be high-fiving the air big time. That shwine Kennett has kicked us repeatedly. Wish it was them.

one at a time Franky..

The Hawks have been using "elephant Juice" for years!!

...............

This is big make no mistake every Bomber fan will be coming to realise the worst case scenarios could see their club struggling for many years to come, depending upon how they fare they could even become a sponsorship no go area for years to come. That along with a massive debt and interest they will have with their new facilities could see them be looking for handouts for many years to come......

..........

Well wouldnt that wipe the smiles off their collective smug little faces !!

So many of the Bomber Brigade have relished the years looking down their beaks at poor lowly Melbourne.

Might just cut them down to size....and definitely bring them back to earth...... THUD !!!!

If, and its still an IF, they have been guilty of widespread cheating them Im happy for the earth to open up under them.

And before anyone starts, theres a vast, no , CHASM of difference between working within well accepted and pratcised "managing of lists" and the completely different case of DRUG CHEATING !!

How did Meth Coke escape the wrath of Khan after the Benny Cousins incident broke?

I will always remember that 2006 GF the Eagles were so juiced. I was at the game.

WYL my best mate is a Bombers fanatic, his nephew played for them up until last season. We watch every game between our clubs together with our kids who also wear their our club colours.

When the Bombers get done by us he usually goes into a rage, remote controls get smashed and he becomes a sook.

I enjoy that as I do every time we beat them but this is different, this goes beyond Essendon this will harm the game

PSD. Who is to blame if Essendon get done for cheating??......Essendon.

Do not give them anything. Did the Comp survive when Carlton got wacked for Brown Paper Bags??

Yep. Just like we survived WW2 even though we lost brothers.

I would have thought that the Eagles, who incredibly bulked up over two years would be at least looked at in some depth.

Maybe that picked up Cale as a decoy to put ASADA off the scent? :-))

Geez WYL you would want some very hard concrete evidence to your accusations. Journo's held back on this issue due to legal reasons. But you keep going buddy. Your in fine form!

Cant say I'm surprised by this level of posting from you

The journos can go to town now that the ACC has tabled their report. They only have to refer to it. They couldnt before...so they shut up ( for a change )

The old argument of Recruiting v Development springs to mind here, I reckon our recruiting has been abysmal over the last 10 years, but I'm beginning to believe that there are some clubs that have overcome their poor recruiting by some very astute development.

It really pisses me off that we have watched the so called power clubs win premierships that may be tainted and that we have fallen off the pace because we have refused to use the "cutting edge" training techniques they have adopted; I'm glad we didn't but it really grates that the ones that did have stuck it up us for so long. I hope the cheats are all hung out to dry and I don't care who it is, anyone that has used drugs should be given the ass from the competition.

No Robbie F...even worse...left in the competition but they have to then play the cards they have left. They can do some hard time

you obviously missed this mornings Press Conference with the ACC Federal Police and Federal Minister...Good listening it was to.

We all know it is still alleged, but i have moved on to $100 chips.

My post above does mention the word IF.

Essendon are not dead yet. The might pull through...

yes. Broken but kept on life support to cover the broadcast deal. All of 'em.

Considering our current coach was a former assistant of one of said premiership-winning power clubs, and has continually compared where we are at as opposed to where the power clubs are at, I'm not sure if that means Collingwood are on the juice. Perhaps it may be a handful of players, rather than every man and his dog in red and black, but you wouldn;t think Neeld would be demanding our players to get to the fitness levels of the pies if he knew they were on it and we weren't.

Perhaps that's just it...if he knew Collingwood were on it.

Hatred of the filth is certainly old school (like many of us Demon fans  ), juvenile, backward-looking and soaks up a lot of energy. Long may it live!

Hatred of Hawthorn and the scum is probably for a generation later, juvenile, backward-looking and soaks up a lot of energy. Long may it live!

1946, 1954, 1958, 1988, 2000, ... take your pick. Go Demons!

Whos to blame if we get done for Tanking?

Whos to blame if we get done for Tanking?

The sports medicine guy.......he refused to give us anything that was performance enhancing.

On us, you would think Misson would be clean with track record with CA, Sydney and St Kilda; known for managing injuries rather than Essendon-style masses of ST problems.

NC is questionable. Not for conduct at Adelaide or at Melbourne, but years earlier; there's been rumours for as long as he was coach at Adelaide regarding his conduct when he was at the AIS. That is questionable, but it's so long ago that who knows if it could ever come to light. I doubt he has done anything since though.

I don't put our recent plight purely to the fact we haven't and they have, there's a certain amount of natural fitness we haven't been able to acheive due to lack of facilities and lack of money in the football department. It's the ones who have gone the extra yard and have resorted to cheating I hate, if anyone at our club is involved I hope they get rubbed out too.

As an aside I wonder if Beamer would like to offer an opinion on Geelong when he was there.

Whos to blame if we get done for Tanking?

before or after the courts?

I have always said if the AFL do us with SOLID evidence i accept whatever shite we get.

I am yet to see that solid evidence.

i'm speachless

Been pulling your leg DWA.

I only rate them in that they have managed to bounce back after 2006 (premership winners) and when they lost Kerr to injury, Judd and Cousins from 15th (2008), 11th (2009), 16th (2010), 4th (2011), to 5th (2012).

They have done more than we have over 6 years than we have in 12.

Will be interesting to see how they perform. On my to-watch-list (for better or worse) with Geelong, Carlton, Richmond and us

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. The Dees will be desperate to reignite their stuttering 2025 campaign and claim just their second win of the season. Can the Demons dig deep and find that ANZAC Spirit to snatch back to back wins?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
