Yep be happy with Jed Lamb!

& his younger brother said to gonna be something, Sean. lets get both, just to be sure to be sure :)

Jed would be a great player for the Dees,, however Sean is the older brother and is definately no footballer. Maybe one of his younger twin brother's?.

Not sure about all this Jed Lamb love - cracked the seniors this year and played 12 games, didn't really impress though. Averaged under 10 disposals and kicked 9 goals... I think we should be looking elsewhere.

I'm a tad unsettled about the lack of love for Mitch Clark atm.

Trade? Mitch? The only player who gave us all a glimmer of hope last year? The most feared player on the field?

Okay he's injured, but it'll all come good.

I, for one, cannot wait for his return.

Totally agree! Clark will be fine. Every measure would have been taken dilligently to get him back to 100%! He will be ready round 1! And I cant wait to see him back!! Feared is correct!

In all honesty who would want to play on Clark!!!! Hes quick, tall and has Gadget arms and kicks straight! if we get those midfielders we need.... the delivery will be on a platter to him and the Demons will be back!

He was sub pretty much every time. Liked him when he was drafted, don't think he's been given a real chance. Wouldn't give much but if he was keen for sure we should get him

Ah, the intellectual footy fan who makes declarations purely based on stats.

A valued contribution nonetheless.

The important thing to note is if you look at the "Advanced Stats" you will see he also averaged only 58% game time.

Thank you Benjamin, it's probably the cricketer in me.

I have also watched him play and there wasn't a whole lot there to excite me.

Haven't seen a lot of him since his drafting, but I always saw him as the second coming of Addam Maric.

Ugh.

Having said that, he has had 3 or so years developing in the Swans culture, and Roos has seen plenty of him up close at their academy, so if we get him, there will be a good reason for it.

I'm not fussed by him whatsoever, but doubt you'd know him if you fell over him.

Shifter Sheehan gives Roosy a fair rave here good read.

Good comments in there, wonder if we actually will pick up one of those big Americans from the Swans academy? Could be a possibility to add another project ruckman if Spencer goes.

Keep your doubts to yourself next time. Thanks for the input though!

With the saints just signing that big John Holmes I hope Roosy is on to it aswell. Could you imagine if we unearth another Mike Pyke :D

Tom Boyd on Trade Week Radio was just asked which clubs the boys are a bit afraid of during interviews. He said that the one most of them are dreading is Melbourne because they are asking the tough questions and are putting the boys on the spot.

Beat me to it Mitchy lol but nah good to hear Boyd also said the Dees are interviewing them this afternoon.

That's good to hear. They might also be a bit nervous because we are rubbish

Not meaning to have a go Django, but i dont believe draftees would be nervous coming to the club. The young boys we drafted this time last year were super excited to become Dees. Barry and Toumpas were over the moon, despite us being rubbish. With Roos, PJ et al on board, this year's will also be thrilled. They are 17/18 yrs olds living the dream. Over the course of a footy career, there's every reason to believe any club can turn it around, even our club.

Maybe nervousness isn't the right word but I'm sure there'd be a little bit of reluctance coming to a struggling club over a very good club, particularly for the top draftees who know they'll be drafted at some stage.

whats a tough question ??

whats a tough question ??

For any of the top 10..."how would you feel about playing for the MFC?"

For Boyd?

"Are you better than Hogan?"

How is that a tough question, when the answer is clearly "no"?

A tough question would be "how would you handle a more experienced team mate who isn't pulling their weight on/off the field?" or "how do you handle failure".

Was tongue in cheek my good man.

That's why it's a tough question for Boyd - because Hogan is in fact better.

A mate of mine told me we are very interested in the following:

Matthew Janesch - Adelaide

Liam Patrick - GC

Jed Lamb - Sydney

I wouldn't be surprised if we got all three. He also mentioned Heath Shaw + Pick 10 for Pick 2 but I doubt Roosy would do that.

I'd be happy to get Lamb. He is going to be a jet.

I'd offer a 3rd rounder for Shaw and work from there. Collingwood don't want him, Shaw doesn't want to be there, he'll be going cheap, not that Collingwood would let you know that.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
