Is anyone left at the club that would be capable? PJ maybe but he's so busy drafting Board Minutes recording "resignations and pending AFL payout assistance" he probably hasn't got time to scratch himself.

Watched him play a number of games in the 2nd half of his career. Would rank for mine as the dirtiest player i've seen alongside David Rhys Jones and Dipper. No harm in asking I guess but I recall someone asking him this just after Bailey was sacked. He just laughed and said there was no way he would. And that was before we became the official basket case of the AFL. I doubt he'd want to jump into our frying pan at his fragile age. Might not survive the first month let alone the first year.

Dermot, Andrews, Duckworth, Merrett, Grinter, Fidge, loved those days... bring back some biff.

All this talk about 'is someone from the club talking to him" and so on, is a load of absolute nonsense.

The whole thing is being set up in the background by Jackson and Demetriou. They are talking to all of the prospects, and I would be almost certain the matter has been discussed with Matthews.

I rather watch John Duckworth then his Brother Billy any day of the week.

I remeber when John standing outside the oppositions teams change rooms after half time waiting for the coward who KO a young Dean Laidley earlier in the game.

Think John must have told him that he was a goner if he came anywhere near him for the rest of the game, which being the coward he was he never did.

I have always respected senior players looking after their younger team mates. But never want to see the cowardly hits behind the play.

Hope u r right bbb cause we can not afford to get this wrong for a third time as that will be the death of our great club.

I think you are pretty close to the mark here 'Barassi', with the current board on the outer and a FD in transition there is no other way for it to work.

True but I am still alittle scared.

Only one good thing as come from Collingwood, Chris Dawes

And a few flags our way

The problem with letting the afl make our decisions, is that they might allocate an avg fee to the coaching position, which would eliminate Roos, Matthews, Thompson and clarkson.

They may more be thinking about stability and sustainability and would therefore be inclined to pick eade.

We need a president that can represent the rank and file, and give us our long awaited 'great' coach, Lethal.

Disagree with this T.

In my opinion the AFL no doubt recognise our dire position and realise that we need an "A" grader for a coach which would be either Roos, Matthews, Thompson, clarkson or the like (depending on availability and desire).

I would Hope So.

& I think the anxst is because the factions could shoot us all in the foot, if they manage to change the board mid ships & throw a spanner into the board... if we miss out on a Matthews,,, the club will split, right down the middle.

these factions better be careful bringing back their past.

I contacted the club today in regards to Leigh Matthews and the opportunity for me to join the future board.

She said I will be contacted later today.

TT In my wildest dreams I just don't see it happening.

He has given no indication he is interested in coaching again anywhere.

Let alone a basket case of a list like the MFC.

In 2012, he said he was interested in the MFC position, but was not contact by the club. It was on 3AW for everyone to hear. I know Gerard Healy was surprized to hear that, as I think all the listeners were surprized. 1 big royal [censored]-up.

Absolutely fantastic.

It dosnt take much to give someone a call.

Finally, the silly days are behind us.

If lethal is interested, we would have to select him, true?

huw can the MFC pay a top coach?

We paid $400 for MN but a top coach could cost $1,5m does the MFC have that amount of cash?

If that is Lethal's fee, we will make it back in spades. We will also save money not having to renew the contract of half of the assistant coaches that surrounded Neeld.

Realistically, if we got Lethal, our membership base would increase by 10,000, especially with all the hype that will surround the 'new look team' which will also include Hogan.

The real question is, if both Matthews and Roos say yes, which one would we go for? Probably the one with more desire.

Top coaches pay for themselves, if lethal come aboard you would gain 6000 members, now time that by 200 dollars and lethal pays for himself, I'm sure Webjet and Opel would be delighted with that result also.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
