ABC news reporting that Mark Neeld has been sacked.

SEN too...(unconfirmed rumour disclaimer attached)

Well its to late for a press conference now right?

Maybe tomorrow - the thing is if they announce a press conference for tomorrow the media will be waiting in bushes outside Neelds home ...so what do they do?

The meeting should have started at 10am to allow for this

Pink tutus and a fairy wand?

OMG they taken away the blue and red!

The pain of it all.

the meeting was not for the new MFC playing outfit?

maybe they are discussing the new improved blazers that bear better homage to our unparalleled heritage

Pretty sloppy execution .

That's the whole point. you watch and then come on here and just whinge and whine, why put yourself through it, as I have said before it doesn't matter whether you have supported the team for 5 minutes or 50 years, if you don't enjoy it why bother, it hints at latent masochism........a lot of posters don't whine and whinge on here, they offer constructive thought, there is a group on here that is just "sack everybody we are crap"

Read all of my posts and then read yours again... I wouldn't take a popularity vote if I was you... I have posted many a constructive thought and don't assume I do not enjoy supporting the Club (or posting on here).... You say : " a lot of posters don't whine and whinge on here, they offer constructive thought "... believe me Satyriconhome, you do not appear to have ever been one of them !! I am not going to cast aspersions on you except to say enough DL members have already done that and I do not see any point in just adding to the list... You are to me a non entity and I just say to you... Enjoy your life and leave yourself COMPLETELY out of mine..Capish ?

"To Members and Supporters,

In today’s Board meeting Peter Jackson presented his early recommendations for our Club following his first month in the role of CEO. Peter Jackson has been asked by the Board to examine every aspect of the Club and today he outlined a number of changes he believes are required to take our Club forward. In coming weeks and months we will seek to change the structure of the Football Department as well as a number of other aspects of our business.

Today, as with all Board Meetings, there was a presentation from the Football Department from Mark Neeld, Neil Craig, Todd Viney and Josh Mahoney. Our on-field performances have not met expectations this year and everyone in the Football Department continues to face ongoing assessment in their roles as do those employed in other areas of the Club. The Club will make no further comment at this time, in relation to the senior coach position.

We are extremely pleased to announce today that following the Board’s request to Peter Jackson to extend his tenure as CEO beyond the initial 6 month contract, he has agreed to stay in the role of CEO until at least the end of 2014.

I will continue to provide you with regular updates.

how can they be quoting someone who was at the meeting when supposedly the meeting is still going??

In addition, surely there would be confidentiality agreements in place regarding the discussions of those board meetings, and protocols on how information is to be presented.

If someone has leaked information to the media from the meeting, they should be removed from the club immediately.

New Coach appointed (interim) Possibly Craig..... Neeld to remain on the Coaching Panel ????? Just saying  Probably just as accurate as all other forecasts on this topic ...

well, looks like it must have just finished if McLardy has released a statement.

ABC also saying Neeld confident of avoiding the axe .

At least they have both sides of the story covered.

Sure is. I wonder what percentage of the 1500 AFL accredited journos actually write about matches? Probably a small minority.

No, the small minority maintain the tautology reference library.

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
